Screen of Charge 3 is very dim

My Charge 3 has become very dim since I uploaded the new software late month. I did try the instructions that David put on the blog, but all I get is a smiley face. I did change the clock face since I did change it around the same time I did the update, but still very dim. I couldn't see the watch face outside and not I can't see it inside.  This is my 8th Fitbit and I really would like to keep supporting the band, but I need to have a device that last more than 2 years.

Please let me know if I can try something else to fix this issue.
