The screen on my Fitbit Charge 3 has suddenly become too dim to see. I have tried rebooting by pressing and holding for eight seconds while device plugged in. I get a clear smiley face but display is still dim. I have changed the clock face but it’s still dim. I have looked at instructions and tried to change the brightness but can’t see how. Please tell me exactly how to change the brightness please. Many thanks.

Thank you ..I can't try this solution as the screen is completely black so I can't see it to move thru the steps. Is there a way I can adjust the brightness from the app?

Hi @Deciduous33, it is nice to see you around.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the brightness on your Fitbit Charge 3, and thank you for the steeps you have already tried. To adjust the brightness on your device, please follow the steps below:
As a personal recommendation, I would suggest getting the device in the darkest room possible as this can improve the way you see the screen, even if it's just a little bit.

I have this same issue and no matter the brightness level it's still not visable even in a pitch black room. From what I hear fitbit did an update that screwed up many devices, was this their way of making people buy new ones? I'm not buying another fitbit product ever.

Hello, thanks for this answer. I could barely see my screen but I swiped left then swiped up and tapped the screen. Somehow, I found screen wake, tapped on it and a light bulb symbol came on. Now I can see the details on my screen, thanks.

BRIGHTNESS DISPLAY. Instead of having Bright, Auto and Dim options, how about Really Bright, Auto and Dim?
I understand that the brighter the display, the faster it will use your battery. However, instead of only having to recharge once a week, I would prefer to recharge every 3-4 days and to be able to ACTUALLY see my screen.
I have done everything to try and fix this issue.
I have rebooted the watch.
I have gone to screen wake, and checked that light bulb symbol is on.
I have gone into Settings > Brightness. On Auto it actually did brighten after a second, and I thought great. But when I go back to looking at the WATCH/time normally, it's dull again, unless I'm in a dark room, which is no good during the day.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION TO HAVE A REALLY BRIGHT SCREEN.

Please reply and address everyone's concerns. I had my first fitbit for 3 years and the screen never darkened, I upgraded just because I wanted the newer model. It appears the company decided the product was made well and they had to find a way to fix that. There is no reason for the display to die this quickly, it's not a screen on all day, only when we click a button.
