Where can I send my charge 3 for servicing in Singapore? It has a whole white background that blocks the display and the battery is draining faster than normal.

Hi Jayce

This may be too late for you, but I found a repair centre from this community also.

There is a company Technofied Vision Pte Ltd in Genting lane area. My Charge 3 display died in late March and I went there to get them to assess it. They were busy because of the circuit breaker with many people going there to fix laptop problems. But I managed to get an assessment in 3 days. In the meantime I had to use my mobile phone Samsung Health app to clock my steps.

Bottom line, They quoted me $150 to repair - replace both motherboard AND screen. Since my watch was still working, and I only paid S$160 for it (someone had gotten it as a credit card spending gift and so it to me and Fitbit wouldn’t replace it because of that), I didn’t take it up.

I suspect the reason for the screen failure could be one of two :-

1) whilst I was careful not to wet the watch, there was once I went into the pool with it When my son was swimming

2). More likely, I had used my mobile phone 18W charger to charge it And this may have been too much for the electronics.

I subsequently dropped the Charge 3 three weeks ago during a walk/jog (I had left it in my shorts ) and ended up replacing it with another Charge 3 bought off Carousel at S$140 from someone who’d received it as a birthday gift.  Thing is, it doesn’t have the white strap which doesn’t irritate the skin as much.

I would have bought a Garmin - the guy at Technofied mentioned that Fitbit repairs were common but he rarely gets Garmin to fix. But the Vivosmart4 didn’t have connected GPS, didn’t look as good and wasn’t going for discount.

Actually , Live Healthy SG (a HPB initiative) has a promo where you get a free Charge 4 at S118 but subscribe to Fitbit Premium at $10/mph for 12 months. If you’re still considering Fitbit, you may want to consider this.

It's quite frustrating with Fitbit having such issues for different model even. Was using alta, the Charge 3. My current Charge 3 is a replacement while it's still under warranty; replaced on Jan 2020. Now, it had half white screen and now totally blank; did not even last a year. Time to switch to other watch, spare the stress and hassle whenever it's dead.
