Sometimes you have to actually do a full reset of the device and then reinstall the app

Don't bother asking here for help with that. You just get bot responses that lead you in a perpetual cycle of non help and frustration the charge 3 is merely a marketing ad. I advised someone who was about to purchase one to read these forums. She did and quickly decided not to purchase a defunct and useless device and thanked me for the help.

Glad I caught her before she wasted money on this useless toy.

Reset is easy.

Sure is, especially when you lose all your unsynced data just to get the device to operate like it should. Then wait half an hour or more for it to find the device on your phone, then wait even more for things to update.

Brilliant stuff. I should have bought one of those batman toy watches that do the exact same thing, might have had better support.

Happy it worked for you. All gadgets come with their own share of

@Foam4Daze: It is actually possible to put a shortcut on a home screen, at least on Android 9 which I'm running. These are the steps needed:

  1. Typically one long-press somewhere on a not occupied spot on the backgrund in a telephone  home screen and enter the Widgets selection pane. This step may vary depending on telephone model I guess. There you should be able find the Fitbit widget group. You might need to use the widget search function or scroll around a bit to find it. Open it and select the 1x1 Fitbit Quick button option by kind of long pressing it.
  2. The widget is placed but a selection pane should quickly appear asking you what kind of shortcut you want. There pick the "Alarms" one.
  3. The widget is now placed on the home screen somewhere. Long press and move to a better location if needed.

If you're trying to set a silent alarm on your android:
1. Tap on fitbit app
2. Tap on your picture on the top left of the screen, the same line as the
word fitbit and the in basket (which is on the top right)
3. Your device should show in the middle of the screen. Tap on the device
name and it will open another window with the device name at the top.
4. Scroll down and you'll see silent alarm as an option.

Hope that helps!

there is NO plus sign, or turquoise circle, on what I think you are calling the DASHBOARD.

I am on a Galaxy edge 7, and using the android fitbit app.

It brings up my steps for the day in top and the other data below it,  then way down on the bottom left corner is a yellow arrow to upgrade to premium,  ....... am I on the right display ?

That's not where I found mine.

Here's where I finally found my alarms:
*Click on the setting symbol. On my dashboard it is in the right hand corner, but God only knows where yours is!*One of the menu options will be the device you use: possibly Fitbit Alta, or Fitbit Charge 3 or whatever. Click on the device.*The menu that comes up following this (for me) has alarms as the first option.
I hope this is some help to someone!

I have no "+" icon on my dashbord.  I have clicked on everything.  I know I have setup a silent alarm before now want to change it, but very frustrated as to how to get to it.  I can not  access from fitbit charge 3 device directly.  Help.

Here are the steps from the app:

1. Tap on your photo or avatar on the top left corner.

2. Under devices, tap on Fitbit Charge 3.

3. Scroll down to Silent Alarm and tap on that to set alarm.

Hope this helps.
