Setup and firmware update difficulties with Charge 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been trying to update the software for my fitbit for weeks and it wont work. I've tried everything from restarting the fitbit to turning my phone completely off and on again to restart my bluetooth. It wont pair with bluetooth at all now. I tired deleting the charge 2 from the fitbit app and now I can't add it again. I get to the part where I type in the 4 digit number on the fitbit screen and that's as far as it goes.

Hello @Annekedabra, welcome to the Community Forums!

First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation prior to posting. To better assist you, can you please let me know which Samsung mobile device you're currently using? I recommend you to learn more about how to update the firmware version of your Fitbit device with the information that's specified on this help article. Then, please move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

Regarding the setup process, if you haven't already done so I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to check if all the requirements are correctly configured to setup your device. Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted. By the way, I've moved your post to the Charge 2 board.

Hi there. I am using a Samsung Galaxy A8.

I tried to do the "all day sync" that was mentioned in the help guide but at this point I can't even pair my device.

I get to the point where it asks for the 4 digit number that's on the Fitbit. I type that in to the app and it tries for about 30 seconds and then says it can't connect.

Super frustrating. I have tried everything. Restarting the Fitbit doesn't work. Restarting my phone and bluetooth doesn't work. Jumping up and down on one foot while whistling and drinking a glass of water doesn't work. Aaagh!

This is the second Fitbit I have purchased. The first one died completely, and I got a small discount on this new one, and now after not even a year, this one has failed too.

Boo-urns 😞

I am still having no success pairing my Charge 2 with my Samsung Galaxy A8. I would like to try factory reset, but can someone please explain how I'm supposed to remove my tracker from the charger while continuing to hold down the reset button?! This is apparently step 2 in the process but for the life of me I can't figure out how the heck to accomplish this. I like my Fitbit, and it was working fine until a few months ago. After trying to get it to sync properly many times, I decided to unpair it and start over and now I can't get past the step where you type in the 4 digit code. It says it can't pair. Every. Freaking. Time. I'm am about ready to napalm the stupid thing. I have tried EVERYTHING in the troubleshooting topics. From what I've read I'm not the only one having this issue, but so far it seems like no one has been given a solution that works. 🤯
