I'm considering buying Charge 3 devices for my parents. Unfortunately, my dad refuses to get a smartphone. I've sideloaded the Google Play Store on his Fire tablet, so would be able to download the Fitbit app. Thoughts on whether I'd be able to sync the Charge to the tablet in that circumstance?

Hello @choklityum and welcome to the Community. That's exactly the advice I've seen to sync with a Fire HD. I can't confirm it because I'm an iPhone user. I looked at your profile and can see that you are a long time Fitbit user. If you download the app, can you log in to your account? You might need to turn off your Notifications in order to sync with the Fire HD. Notifications can create a tight Bluetooth bond between your Fitbit and your phone. If you can sync, then they can sync. Do they share the tablet? Generally, you can only have one copy of an app. One user must log out so the other can log in.
I just want to point out that the Charge 3 is a discontinued device. The current model is the Charge 5. The Charge 5 might be more hardware than your parents want or need. Why are you thinking about the Charge 3?

Thanks, Laurie! I appreciate your response.
I'm just looking for a relatively inexpensive gadget for my parents, who are 76 and 82. And since I'm already familiar with the Fitbit world, it would be easy to set up devices for them. The Charge 3 has come up on several sites recommending less expensive devices that are still reliable.
My mom has an Android phone, so no issue there. But my dad has essential tremor, so a smartphone screen is difficult for him to use. They each have tablets of their own. I'm a bit of a tech geek, so sideloading the Play store was one of the first things I did. The Amazon app store is pretty sparse!
