Silent alarms on Charge 3 don't go off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi!

I have problems with silent alarms on my fitbit charge 3. I have been back to the store several times for advice, and tried everything. I have reset my device several times. Notifications during sleep is on. All day sync is on. I have tried to set 3-4 alarms that goes off at different times. and notification is on.

Yesterday i sat a new alarm only for the day after, at 6 o clock, that didnt go off (but still showed as an alarm at the watch, and switched to show alarm at 6 o clock the next day when it didn't go off). The alarm at 6.20 that is sat for weekdays went off though…. But today the 6.20 (weekdays) alarm didn't go off (late for work again!!) I had synced it as the last thing I did before I went to sleep, and it showed as an alarm at the watch.

There is no pattern for when it works or not, It can work for three days in a row and then not go off the fourth day.

I have the latest Version (I think?), 1.60.39, and after the update it has gone worse. I have also gone back to the store, and also got a new charge 3 device, because I thougt it was something wrong with my device. But it seems that its something wrong with all fitbit 3 devices when it comes to silent alarms.

I think its a pity. earlier I had fitbit charge 2, and charge HR before that, and I really like charge 3, its better to wear, I can swim with it and the glass is far better.

But I really need to have a watch with silens alarm working!!

What can I do? can someone help me?

Best regards

Heidi

Welcome on board @HeidiMNI am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation. Rest assured that I will do my best to help you. Robot Happy

Besides the steps you've tried so far, which I totally appreciate, I'd recommend that you try removing the alarm and then adding it once again. You can find instructions on how to remove alarms  by clicking here. Basically what you want to do is:

  1. Sync your Fitbit to your account.
  2. Restart your Charge 3.
  3. Remove the alarm.
  4. Sync your Fitbit.
  5. Add the alarm.
  6. Since once more.

Then they should start working. Please give it a try and let me know how it goes, I'll be glad to continue assisting you.

I have done that several times, added new alarms. I have tried alarm only for one day, and new alarms for all weekdays. I have deleted all of them, synced and then added new ones (four cheduled to go off on different times in the morning). Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I noticed that it was a new update (not a big one I tink), so I ran that today, I have reset it again, and then we'll se....

I really appreciate some help from you, it's a bit frustrating not knowing if the alarm goes off or not in the morning!

If you have just updated your Charge 3, I'd recommend waiting until tomorrow to see if the alarms work properly after the firmware update

I’m having this issue over and over again. I have the latest firmware. Sometimes if I reset the charge 3 it will work the next morning. But then the following morning it won’t work. Is there a new firmware due out soon to correct this problem?

Hi again!

My two alarms set for every weekday did not go off today (both of them showed on the watch),

But the one alarm I sat only for Sunday (and was turned off at the watch) went off today (monday) as well.

This is totally crazy, and this feature at fitbit 3 is not working at all.

I guess it's supposed to go off every weekday when its set for every weekday?, ufortunately you can't trust these alarms...

I never had this problem with fitbit charge 2, not once!

This problem started for me with this latest firmware update. Yes you cannot trust the alarms. Really distressing for me as I need to get up early to take a med.

This was a problem with the original firmware. Fitbit got it working properly after a few updates, and everything was great for 6 months or so. Now, ever since the last update, the alarms are erratic again. Please let the engineers know.

Hi!

After working for a while my silent alarm refuses to go off again. I can't trust it at all, maby it goes off once a week (and my settings says every weekday…), when are you planning to do something about this?, it's obvious that this is not working properly...

I can't use my fitbit as an alarm clock anymore, otherwise I had lost my job.

Is it a problem with all fitbit charge 3, or is it just some of them?

I’m having the same issue. I thought it was just me. I’ve missed two important meeting due to this error. Has there been any updated on this? I only purchased the watch 2 months ago and it was purely for the alarm functionality. Is there way we can get a refund?

Although I know it won't be helpful to anyone, I finally gave up and got a different device (Garmin Forerunner 645M, which has the extra functionality I need for running). The Charge 3 really is nice as a fitness band, and I find a lot about the user experience of Fitbit devices and their software to be superior to Garmin, but I needed to consolidate my fitness band, GPS watch, and mp3 player into one device. The amount of time this alarm issue has plagued us has been unacceptable, so even though I didn't have it long, I'm ok with leaving my Charge 3 behind sooner than I expected.

My previous Fitbit, the Charge HR, had no issue at all with the alarm. It's sad this couldn't be solved before I left for a different device.

I have recently done exactly the same as you Gregg, although I chose the Garmin 245M.

I'm really impressed with my new Garmin watch and have not had any issues whatsoever.

I had no choice but to give up with Fitbit. I had so many fundamental problems with my Charge 3 (Alarm not sounding, Incorrect time showing, Device freezes, ongoing iPhone sync problems - needing to reset the device 2-3 times per week). I could no longer trust my Fitbit device, nor the Fitbit Customer Services.

I have been emailing the Fitbit customer support for months and months now and all I ever get is generic scripted answers ensuring me that these are being looked at and that I should try resetting the device.

Finally enough was enough and I forked out for a Garmin (To consolidate the GPS / Music / Fitness tracker into 1 device and fix all of my Fitbit problems).

I have to say that the Garmin, in my experience, far exceeds any Fitbit I have ever had. The UI is smooth and easy to use. The stats it collects are excellent but can be hidden if not required and the GPS totally accurate - battery lasts me 5-7 days too (3x 45min-60min runs per week)

I understand it's an expensive initial outlay, but for anyone still battling with Fitbit to get the Charge 3 problems fixed, give up and get yourself a Garmin.

Garmin are far more reliable.

Im having exactly the same issues. I thought I was going nuts or even sleeping through it which I found very unusual as I never slept through my charge 2 alarm.
I have a hearing issue and can not hear an alarm clock so rely on my fitbit to wake me 😫
