Hey!
I have contacted customer support already and I'm waiting to hear back, i wanted to ask the community if anyone else has had these issues too?
Also to see if a close up. Photo of the altimeter hole looks normal?
Ive not had my charge 4 that long. I've never got it wet and I have a silicon cover guardian the screen.
After charge 3 screen died I got a charge 4.
Thinking that it would be an upgrade to any faults that the 3 had? I really enjoyed having the 3 the size of the face and the lightness of it was good. The app and watch plus aria weighing scale all linked up great.the recording of my heart rate, exercise + sleep score was absolutely incredibly accurate.. nano naps..every single time I turned over or woke.
The main reason I got the charge 3 in the first place was to record my sleep score.
I have been having sleep disturbances /parasomnia for most of my life and while waiting for neurologist and sleep study to be done they had asked me to record as much of my sleep (video, snore sounds app, smart watch etc)
So here I am with the charge 4. And I cannot believe how poor the sleep records are compared to charge 3.
I haven't had 1 single night that it has recorded the whole night of sleep.
Randomly it will record patches of sleep, not recognise rhat I fell asleep, not really recognise many awakening or restlessness.
The recording seems to be 3 hours average.. for instance I actually slept 7 Hours.fkr example 10pm to 5am with 60 mjns of restlessness awake.
The charge 4 records 3hrs 14 mins.
From 1am to 4.14 am.
It doesn't recognise that I fell asleep, nor recognise I'm still asleep at 4.15.
So ive noticed that the 3 hours 14min of recorded sleep comes after I've already had 2/3 hours of sleep so the 1st 3 hours Randomly disappear?
Also noticed around every other day no sleep records it's so weird!
This week it recorded 2 lots no 3ish hrs sleep Instead of recognising I woke and fell back to sleep.
I have tried all of the tips to get better record
placement 2/3 finger width over wrist.
Band tightness
Dominant hand
Non Dominant hand
Setting sleep on the fitbit itself.
leaving it do its own thing
Setting the app to sleep
Reset, restarted, re- paired
Uninstall the app and reinstalled
Absolutely nothing has helped
So I'm trying to figured out what's causing the issues?
I have taken a very close-up photo of the inside of the altimeter.
I'm not sure if that not being set correctly or that this debris looking stuff is in there is
distorting and disrupting the sensors from recording the sleep.
(I haven't actually tested any exercise or zones to see if that part works, but the heart rate, the so2 and night temperature average seems just fine.
Weight record paired with the aria also works.
Had anyone else had similar sleep recording issues?
What happened to resolve it?
Is this what the inside of an altimeter looks like?
(Don't worry I'm mot going to poke anything in the holes)

I just got my Fitbit two weeks ago and am experiencing the exact same thing. I know my sleep isn’t good but I only get a sleep score with advanced analytics every few days. Even on days when it recognizes that I slept more than 3 hours, it isn’t picking everything up.

There is obviously a very large issue with them as I've seen lots of similar post. I'm going to return mine once they reply to me via customer service.
