Sleep track mystery

I use a Charge 2. I like the fitness and activity features, but the real reason I got it was for sleep tracking. Overall like it, but sometimes I notice the Sleep Tracker doesn't have the correct time I went to sleep...(when I edit the bedtime) it compensates, but I notices other stage like REM and Deep are drastically altered.

Example: last night it recorded my bedtime as 12 midnight, and showed 58 Minutes of REM throughout the night.  But actual bedtime was it was actually 11:00 PM. When I edited the correct bedtime my REM for the night dropped down to 34 minutes.  note that ALL REM on both results (edited and unedited) occurred well after Midnight.  SO why would changing the bedtime affect the results for sleep stage that occur MUCH later in the night?  It makes me doubt the validity of all the data I'm getting..

@Sleepdata Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your Sleep data isn't accurate some times. Your device will start recording sleep after it detects an hour of inactivity. If you have a light sleep or move too much then this may difficult your sleep detection. Additionally you can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand to decrease the amount of movement it is subjected to. Finally you can restart your device. You can also manually log your sleep. Regarding the data, not sure why this is happening but the data is analyzed by the Fitbit servers and this analysis is constantly improved. Still I appreciate the feedback so it can help the developers research better ways to handle the data.

Let me know how it goes!

just weird to me that by editing my bedtime, it changes REM data that
occurs MUCH later in the night. Stretches of REM between 2 and 6 AM will
sometimes vanish if I cxhange my bedtime in editing, and then they reappear
if I edit back to the oringal bedtime that the device recorded. I would
assume that editing the bedtime would not alter data that is recorded many
hours later.
