Stairs still not counting correctly

ANSWERED

I was hoping the recent firmware update would fix the stair counting on my Charge 3, it hasn't.

My Charge 2 wasn't perfect, it often missed flights, but it would always register _something_.  With my Charge 2, I could go up 6 flights of stairs and sometimes it would only register 3.  It was annoying, but somewhat infrequent, so I just lived with it.  With my Charge 3, I can go up the same 6 flights of stairs and get nothing (my stair counts are what my Charge 2 would have registered).

Before I went to lunch I had done 40 flights of stairs, my Charge 3 said I had only done 23.

Is there a chance this can get fixed?  I can accept the same performance as the older model, but this is a major step backwards.

I'd like to stay in the Fitbit ecosystem, but if this cannot be fixed I will have to return it and move on to something else.

Thanks,

Brian

And why they haven’t the software or is it a hardware problem?

I have not had my Charge stop counting, but I am wondering if you re-boot
it if that will fix the problem. Try that and see if it works.

You would think by now they would have taken care of it so that they don't
lose their customer base!

I rebooted my original Charge 3, and it started to count correctly, as I could determine, but it didn't last long. I rebooted it several times to the point it didn't stop the irregular floor counts. I will try it again. Maybe my original was a fluke, but I don't think so with the comments I have had when I first reported my problems. It seems to need a software update or a hardware correction.

I've tried everything and that did NOT fix the problem. My Fitbit is now
losing the crystal display on its face and I tried changing it with another
clock and guess what, no change. This is an absolute piece of garbage and I
am going to consumer affairs. Mike M

I am giving up on FitBit because of stairs.

Give it away and go to another brand perhaps.

Any suggestions?

I have contacted Fitbit twice about this and was told that Fitbit is aware and received no resolution. The funny thing is that mine started counting a ridiculous number of flights after my premium membership expired. It’s sad that Fitbit doesn’t want to keep their customers happy and offer a solution instead of saying ‘we are aware’ this inaccuracy is making me want to switch to a different brand.

I am constantly rebooting my watch, and reinstalling
It seemed to work for a while, but now there is recall because of a defective battery

I have a Versa3 and it's still not fixed. And your post was from 2018!  It's 4 yrs later.  My Fitbit tells me I have climbed 150 flights of stairs somedays!  It's not even close!

Can someone really tell me what the fix is??  Or is it true that there isn't a fix?

Yes, I have restarted my Fitbit.   No workie. No ticky, no laundry!  Please fix.

I WISH that one was allowed to just ADD the stair flights to the
dashboard. You can add other things. With a 3 story house, the stair
climbs for me were a BIG deal! I left the fitbit system because of that
although a family member just sent me a fitbit for my birthday!

I agree
The stairs counter is inaccurate what Ever Fitbit I used. For an example,
I start my cardio with six flight of stairs in the (late) morning. Take a
couple of laps in the garage, and take a quick trip outside. Approximately
a mile and nine floors, but I am constantly “rewarded” with 8 floors.
I strive for 25, and then 50, and then on (I think I hit 150, but I am not
sure or remember…. I will
Check)……. I am just venting…my V 3 is loosing it’s clock face, and I am
just tired with Fitbit now (I have to tape the clock to keep it together)
I am wandering
I am sorry, and I am frustrated
Oh, btw, I turned in my Iconic for the V3, which was recalled (I am still
waiting for my rebate)🤬🤬🤬🤬
