Hi, I have a fitbit charge 4 which has recently gotten a black screen such that I am no longer able to see the home face or activity selection screens. I was wondering if there is a way for me to select and start activities from the mobile app such that I can track heart rate and pace zones when wearing the watch. I'm pretty sure the only thing malfunctioning is the screen, so the heart rate monitor and gps capabilities still work.

Hello @sheonki and welcome to the Community. When you start an activity from the mobile app, you are using a feature called MobileRun. MobileRun uses the motion sensors and GPS on your phone and doesn't interact with your Fitbit at all. It doesn't show your heart rate in the exercise details.
There are two there issues if you are an iPhone user. First, the GPS is malfunctioning when your phone goes to its lock screen. You don't get an accurate GPS map at all. Second, MobileRun tracks walk, run and hike. Your exercise details will list everything as walk and you can't change the name of the activity.
I also moved your post to the Other Charge Tracker forum.
