Step count very high with no measurements taken linking Fitbit to Strava

I have a problem with my app. I haven't worn the fitbit for about a week now. I went on a run today, used my Strava app and wore my fitbit. I was analysing the Strava record and I realised I could link to my fitbit. It didnt seem to work as it just kept taking me to the fitbit dashboard in the Strava app. So I went on my laptop to see if I could do it through the browser and I noticed that the fitbit had logged 33,930 steps for yesterday. I didn't wear the fitbit yesterday.

I'm wondering, did trying to sync the fitbit to Strava effect yesterdays step count somehow? And also, how do I delete yesterdays step count, even though there are no measurements and no activities on record?

Thanks in advance

I use my fitbit and I have linked it to Strava.  I had trouble several times setting it up and linking to strava.  But finally it worked.  Not sure what I did differently but keep on trying.  Please remember in this process you have to log on to fitbit account and strava account. I am using both fitbit and stava for more than a year now, but I understand for activity recording you can't use both simultaneously.

Hello @ajones91 Connecting your Fitbit account to your Strava account, should not add steps, unless Strava recorded these steps.

Your post makes it sound like you haven't been able to link the two accounts. Where you a me to?

Do you have mobile connnect added as a device to your account? You can remove these steps by marking this time as driving. However thou say yesterday has 33K of steps, with no steps recorded on yesterday.

Could it be that yesterday morning your tracker did not properly reset and carried the day before over?

I hadn't used my Fitbit for over a week before so it hadn't carried over. What I did notice, today, I went onto the app again, bear in mind, I forgot to put my Fitbit on, it had a step count of over 55k. I noticed when I went onto the app and refreshed, and the count went down to 6k. What I did notice was that I have a mobile tracker linked to the Fitbit app, so when I don't wear my Fitbit, it uses the pedometer of my phone. I'm thinking that may be messing with it? Perhaps when I'm driving my phone thinks that's steps, and not actually logging as a measurement in my Fitbit app as it's through my phone's pedometer?

When mobile connect is active, it will be counting steps when your Charge 2 is not.
