Strap caused burn on wrist

I've been wearing my Fitbit Charge 2 everyday since March 5th, I've never had a problem with it before and I do make an effort to keep my strap dry and clean and only clean it with water because the website says not to use soap. Today (May 18th) when I took off my Fitbit to charge it there was a burn on my wrist where the strap was. It's quite large and it stings and I'm not sure what's caused it, it's not where the Fitbit itself sits so it must have been caused by the strap. I have photo's but for some reason I can't upload them.

Luckily the bands on the Charge 2 are replaceable, and there are many options from Fitbit and third-party sellers. My skin really prefers a leather band to the stock one. Best of luck.

One study showed that sweat can enter the charging port and cause a chemical-like burn due to sweat + battery.
