Hello,
I’ve had a FitBit for 3 years and have always had a cardio score of around 42.
Suddenly, overnight this has changed to 26?!
33 years old, female, 135lb, very active, gym 2-3 times per week and have a job which sees me average 20,000 steps per day.
Due to an erratic work schedule I don’t always get enough sleep so my resting heart rate varies from 58 to 67 (higher when I’ve not slept long enough). Currently it’s 60.
I’ve contacted customer support to see if this is a glitch but I’ve just been sent a generic response about how their systems calculate the scores and what they’re useful for while exercises.
I’m just incredible doubtful that I’ve gone from near excellent to solidly poor.
Anyone else experienced this?

You aren't the only one who has seen a significant drop in fitness. I went from the mid 40's to the mid 30's.

I’ve seen the same thing. I noticed that my RHR calculations are higher than what they normally are too - this started around June 1st, which correlates with some Fitbit updates. If I look at the daily heart rate values that go into the RHR, they can be just about identical yet in May it would give me an RHR of 64 and now it gives an RHR of 68. The RHR goes into the cardio fitness score. It’s all linked and I think there is definitely something weird going on.

I had a drastic decline as well. Over a two or three week period my score went from excellent, to very good, then good and a few days ago it was average! There has been no change in my lifestyle other than a birthday. Does anyone have any idea what might have happened?

Did you ever figure this out? I went from years of "Excellent" to suddenly "Poor"!! My RHR is around 54, and I work out 5-7 days a week with long Peak zones. Maybe it's my age (I have recently turned 46) but not sure that is a great reason to suddenly have poor cardio health! Makes me want to stop using Fitbit. Was about to buy another one but this is discouraging.

Same thing happened here. My cardio score was between very good and excellent. (43 - 47 I believe it was) After an 8,6 km run today, my cardio score suddenly dropped to 32.. wich is average, almost poor.
I have seen this bug before. Didn't contact support, but deleted my account, and started over again. Now this is happening AGAIN... after a month or so. It makes me worried and it is not motivating at all.

Hi there,
I too had an excellent cardio score for women my age up till this week. The only thing that I can think of that changed is that I have been jogging more (Yuck! Not my fave exercise! 😆 ) but not for 10 mins. I usually finish a HIIT workout at home and then finish it off with a 6-7 min jog.
I am going to restart my watch and app to see if that helps.

This just happened to me as well. No change in my lifestyle, and my cardio fitness went from 48 to 52, to 29 literally overnight. This has to be a glitch....right? Otherwise, I'm at death's door. 😞

Same here! From 45 to 30 in a few days. So weird. I do intense cardio 6 days a week and other than dropping a few lbs recently, no other changes. So frustrating!
