Hi @ELMOBOND - I don't have a Charge 3, but if it's like other Fitbits with a weather app, you need to turn on the location in the weather app. Go to the Account icon (upper right corner of the app) and touch the picture of the Charge 3. Touch "Apps", then find Weather. In Permissions, be sure that Location is turned on. See below. I hope this helps

Welcome on board @ELMOBOND! Additionally to what my friend @Ozzie65 posted above. Some apps, such as Weather, require All-Day Sync to be turned on for data to be sent from the Fitbit app to your tracker:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Find the option to turn on All-Day Sync.

To set up Weather:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Tap or click Apps.
  3. Tap or click the gear icon next to Weather. You may need to scroll down to find the app.
  4. By default, the Weather app shows your current location, which cannot be deleted. Add up to 2 additional locations you want to see in the Weather app.
  5. Sync your watch with the Fitbit app. It can take a few minutes to see the updated list of locations on your watch.

If the weather for your current location doesn’t appear, check that you turned on location services for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I allow the Fitbit app to use my phone's GPS?

If you change locations, sync your watch to see your new location in the Weather app.

To change the units used for the temperature in the Weather app:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Tap or click Apps.
  3. Tap the gear icon next to Weather. You may need to scroll down to find the app.
  4. In the Temperature Unit section, tap Units and choose the unit you want to use.
  5. Sync your watch and then open the Weather app on your watch to see the updated units.

Let us know if you need further assistance!

I have a Charge 3 and am unable to locate the 'Permissions' page shown above; on the Charge 3 under the Weather app, the language reads: "Location Services should be enabled to receive weather info for your current location."

In trying to get the weather app working again, I changed the Location Services setting from 'Always' to 'While Using the App' (iPhone); I then rebooted the iPhone and synced my Charge 3, and surprise! the Weather app started working again.

I couldn't sync the weather on my charge 3 either until I realized that the iPhone weather app wasn't on my phone. I put it back and now it works. So obvious I didn't think about that.

I've done this, however it still won't sync. Any ideas?

I've followed your instructions but weather still does not appear. There's obviously something else wrong. Do you have any ideas what else can be done? Thanks.

I had to manually enter it, and it worked perfectly. Account >>Apps>> settings Icon next to “weather”>> enter location

I've done that. However, the weather does not update throughout the day. Is it supposed to do so? Mine will say a temperature but indicate it was from "X" number of hours ago. I would think the weather would be current rather than just from the last time I synced with the app.

That's my experience as well that the weather only updates when you're syncing — so it's a pretty lame feature — kind of like the stopped clock that is correct twice a day.

Thanks for your response. Now I know it's not just me!

Fitbit....if you're listening. HELP! It's a great product but this feature needs a firmware upgrade! Thanks.

Thank you for your advice, however, when I go to my weather app on my iPhone, I don't have a choice to choose permissions. Right now, my current location is no where near where I currently am.  I can't for the life of me figure out how to change that.  above is what I see.  No where can I change or see location to turn on...

Here the steps that worked for me (iPhone 7) & Charge 3:
> On the iPhone, open Settings app
> Scroll down to PRIVACY, tap it
> Turn on 'Location Services' if not already on
> Scroll down to the FitBit icon, set it to 'Always'
> Close Settings
> Open the FitBit app on the iPhone (let it complete the sync process)
> Open your Account settings (tap transparent box in upper right corner)
> Tap Charge 3
> Tap Apps
> Tap Weather
> Tap Settings: 'current location' is already automatically determined via the iPhone platform— when synced you'll see the local name given to your location by WX Services — it may or may not be the same as your Post Office town ... the WX grid is finer and they appear to use neighborhood names.
> Add one or two more cities (to learn the process) by tapping EDIT

Weather should update now whenever you sync...syncing is the only way that the weather gets updated; sometimes for some reason the weather does't automatically sync... the cure is, while still in the FitBit app, to scroll to the weather icon on your Charge 3, Tap it and wait 3 to 5 seconds ... if it doesn’t, try pressing the haptic touch button (on the left side of the Charge 3) a few times.

Thank you for the detailed response! I appreciate you taking the time to do this. I do have the weather syncing with the weather app; most of the time anyway. My complaint, and it sounds as though that's just the way it is, is that I would think the value of the weather app is to stay current and not to have to sync the Charge 3 in order to get up to date weather information. So, if that's the way it is, so be it I guess. I still like the Charge 3 otherwise, Well, except for giving me credit for taking stairs when I haven't been near any during the day. Perhaps the developers at FitBit can figure this  out too.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond!!

Please fix the weather app so that it syncs and stays such for a reasonable amount of time. I have all setting correct, and syncing just stops.

From your main watchface, swipe left 3 times (first swipe: Exercise and Relax, second swipe: Timers and Alarms, third swipe: Weather and Settings).
