Syncing with new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Older phone is still paired with charge 2 and syncs although not consistently. I have a new Note 9 and Bluetooth does not find my fitbit. I reset the fitbit, uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the new phone. Help!

THe Note 9 is not on the Fitbit List of Approved Devices.

I hope there is an update to be expected soon. It seems to sync on its own
but not a force sync. Was able to pair it with bluetooth finally but it
still doesn't find the tracker.

That's typical of phones not on the Approved list.  They will work for some things and not for others. We have no word in advance when other phones will be added to the list.

Hey @chershb1, it is great to see new faces around! Like my friend @SunsetRunner said, this phone model that you have, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, isn't on the list of compatible devices so I'm afraid that even if you were able to set up your Charge 2, I can't guarantee that it'll sync all the time or that the other features as notifications or connected GPS will work as it should. However, you can always try the syncing troubleshooting in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? And please be patient while our team still working on adding more devices to work with Fitbit trackers.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

I am in the same boat. My family made me upgrade and now I can't get texts on my FitBit Charge2. I have a child with a medical condition. I work in a job where I can't have access to my phone. It was so wonderful to get a simple text from child saying they were ok and I could see it on my fit bit. Please make the Note 9 compatible ASAP. Thank you.

I meant I can't receive texts on my fitbit*   Sorry, I can't find the option to delete this message.

Hello @Jenny8675309, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! I understand that you'd like this phone, the Samsung Galaxy S9 to be compatible, as soon as possible, and trust me, our team is working in order to add more devices to be compatible with Fitbit trackers/watches, I will ask you a little bit more of patience while this happens. As I mentioned above, some devices work even when they haven't been added, so please try the troubleshooting stated in this help article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone. Just keep in mind that this might work or not.

Let me know how it goes!

This is really lame.

I specifically bought a versa because it was compatible with my Samsung s7. Upgraded to the note 9 and cant do 1/2  the things I could with my old phone.

200 dollar watch that is not compatible with a Samsung flagship device. Makes no sense.

It is great to see new faces around @Nicknock! I totally understand how you feel because this phone model, the Samsung Galaxy S9 isn't a compatible device, so it doesn't with work well with Fitbit devices, in this case, your Versa. Please note that our team is working with this and other phones, but I don't know when they are gonna be officially released. So in the meantime, if you have another compatible device you can use it with your watch or maybe a computer.

I will appreciate your understanding into this matter.

Turn off S Pen remote under S Pen settings and that should do the trick!

Please get the Note9 on the approved list for the Fitbit Versa quickly. I need those text coming into my watch, and was the whole reason I paid over 200.00 for a watch.  When you have children with medical conditions, and can't have your phone out who working you look for ways to still be able to get the important calls and text. I was very unset to see the watch I depend on doesn't work with this phone. If you can have the S9 and S9 plus working with them there is no reason you can't have the Note 9 working. I was looking into buying more Fitbit items, but now we will have to see!!!

This conversation about the Charge 2 not syncing with the Note 9 was from back in August - has anything changed since then? Can you recommend a way to get everything to sync as it should?

I just downloaded an app called "Fit Notifications" onto my Note 9. So far, I've gotten every text message on my Charge 2! It was easy and walked me through all the necessary steps. Give it a try!

Hey @MrJrSr, I'm sorry for the delay in answering. We as moderators, don't have updates yet about the compatibility of this phone model, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, so I can't tell you an exact date for this phone to be fully released as compatible. In the meantime, I can only ask for your patience.

@Reb1974, welcome my friend! I appreciate the update. As I've been mentioning, I can't guarantee that this phone will setup and sync with the Charge 2 but you can give it a try. It might work. 😉

Keep me posted guys!

I downloaded the app Fitbit Notifications yesterday, and so far have gotten every text and phone call from my Note 9 to my Firbit Versa.  Lol make sure to turn off the notification for everything but calls and text, or your emails coming in will keep your phone going off all the time
