In the past few months my fitbit has not been showing the message on. It will show the name of the person but not a message. My daughter setup the watch to her phone and it works fin . It has to be something with android or note 9's. I have tried everything! How do I fix this?

Software on fitbit charge 2 is 22.22.58

It's a problem with the android app. Fitbit are aware and are investigating. Keep an eye on the following thread where they are making updates on progress:
