The log manually "driving" option doesn't deleting steps

I tried to delete my driving steps. I have added it as an activity. IT says 9900 in the activity log however on the dashboard it still shows the steps with driving included.

P.S. fitbit you need to do something about this. I drive and walk all day at work. So out of the 9900 probably 5000-8k are legit.

Welcome on board @nckheinrich, it's nice to see you around here! Thank you for the thorough feedback for the Fitbit devices and platforms.

Fitbit has been designed to provide motivation and help you to reach your daily goals to success. Please know that we provide feedback to our team based on community posts and we are always working on improving our devices and overall environment based on that feedback.

Please note that it's not possible to delete steps and floors, but you can achieve the same result by negating them. You can get more information at: How do I delete steps and floors?

Let me know if there's anything else I may do to assist in the meantime.

As I said in the opening post that's exactly what I did. The steps are still showing. The activity "driving" has 9958 steps out of 10454. My overview for yesterday is 10454. No steps were deleted from this activity.

Hi there @nckheinrich, thanks for coming back! As mentioned above, it's not possible to delete steps and floors, but you can achieve the same result by negating them.

However, it does negate the steps your Charge 3 have added during the time you were driving. I've manually added "Driving" and my graph negate the steps for that period of time.

Keep in mind that your steps will be recalculated if you manually log an activity as the manually logged activity takes precedence over the steps you tracked while wearing your tracker at that point in time. For example, if I am wearing my tracker and walking and I reach 10,000 steps, then I go to the computer and manually log an activity that starts and ends at that point in time for say 1 hour, Fitbit will calculate how many steps you took and it may bring my step count to something below 10,000 steps.

To clarify this, I did a "Walk" activity yesterday at 8:13 AM and the duration was 15:22. So, I manually logged "Driving" as suggested here. So I typed:

Date: 2019-04-28

Start time: 8:13 AM

Duration: 15:22

Calories: 144 (what my walk activity was showing, however, calories is optional)

Then, I logged this and my data decreased for the time period I've specified.

Hope this helps and clarifies you question. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

It worked but only when doing it through the app not the web.

Hey there @nckheinrich, glad to hear it worked. 😉

Thanks for letting me know it worked through the Fitbit app. In regards to the web, I'd try clearing cookies and cache, I followed the steps provided through the Fitbit.com Dashboard and it did work for me.

Please let me know if there's anything else I may do to assist.

I'm having the same issue, it's not working on the web. When adding "driving" it still didn't negate the steps. I will try on the app.

Edit: It worked on the app and negated the steps.

I am actually having this issue. I am using the app and even though I have manually logged the driving it still shows the steps (I have spent 5 hours in a car so far today there is NO WAY I have done nearly 7k in steps, maybe roughly 2k at most is accurate)
