Tracker logging Outdoor Bike when I didn't ride...

I am so confused my tracker is logging that I rode an outdoor bike for 70 min 0 steps and 550 calories. There is no way that's correct I was never not walking for 70 min. I was walking and shopping all day. Is it a glitch. Why would it say I was biking?

I don't have the app. I use the Fitbit application on my Mac.  When I go to the exercise in my log, there is no "categorize" option.  There is an option to edit the activity but when I try to change it to walking, nothing happens.  How can I change a walking session (3 of them, actually) that's already been logged as a biking session and get my steps recorded?

Hey there @eabl81. Good to see you in the Forums! 🙂

If you'd like to change the type of activity for an existing log, just go to your dashboard, then click on Log at the top of the screen, then go to Activities and scroll down to the Activity history. Here, beside the name of the activity that you'd like to edit, you will see a little pencil that you can click on and there you will be able to type in the name of the new activity and save the changes.

It should look like the image below:upload.png

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help with this!

Thank you for your response.  I found the activity history and clicked on the pencil.  I entered Walk and hit return, but it continues to read "outdoor bike."  It will not change to "walk" no matter how many times I change it.  I've disabled "outdoor bike" as an activity, so it hasn't happened again, but the old activities that recorded that way have not changed. Since it can't happen again, it doesn't matter now.

Huh... that's weird... I just tried that on my app and it changes the exercise type to the new one I select.

You can maybe force quit the app, open it again and  try one more time. If it doesn't change but you're okay with that because you've disabled the outdoor bike option, that should be fine then.

If you need anything else, I'm here to help @eabl81! 🙂

My charge 2 is tracking mowing the lawn as outdoor biking. Mowing seems more strenous than just steps for walking. It seems to be recording both steps and biking for lawn mowing. Frustrating. How to track lawn mowing is what I want to know I guess.

I’m probably late joining this conversation as I have just re entry discovered my Fitbit doing the same thing but the explanation about pushing the prism makes sense as I was mowing the lawn. 😂

Fitbit has been recording much of my physical work time as “Outdoor Bike.” In an attempt to fix it I did as you suggest and turned off outdoor bike. Now In “Track your exercise” I don’t get credit for anything Fitbit would perceive to be outdoor bike. Yesterday It recorded 15,110 steps (my goal is 10,000) and 81 minutes of exercise (my goal is 30). So why does “Track your exercise” say 0 of 5 days?
