My charge HR, is trying to update and on the screen the bar is half way, but on the app it says my device is dead. So I can not manually update or anything like that. I’ve tried charging it but it won’t charge when it’s in the middle of an “update”

Hi, @Anna7106 , the only thing I can suggest in this case is to give it a restart:
Plug it in to charge -- ideally using a wall charger. Make sure that it has had a good two hours charge, even if it doesn't seem to be charging. Then, while it is still plugged in press and hold the button. Ignore advice that this should take 10-20 seconds. Hold the button for 30-60 seconds. If that diesn't work, check that your charging plug really does work with another device, and try again a couple of times more, each time holding the button for at least 30 seconds.
Hopefully it will come back to life, but if not, the next step is to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com. Since your Charge HR is an old device, it will definitely be out of warranty, but I know that Fitbit often offers loyal customers a discount on a new device when they are ready to upgrade. I can definitely recommend the Charge 3. It has many of the features of the original Charge HR and also many more.
Good luck, welcome to the forums, and let us know how it goes!
