Unable to pair and update firmware on Charge 3

I am now on my 4th Charge 3, so disappointed as I really like it. My first one purchased last year, gave up within a month. Fitbit were very good and replaced it. The replacement which came last March 2020 then developed really bad lines across the screen so I was unable to use it. I contacted Fitbit in Feb this year and they sent out a replacement, which was faulty!. That was sent back within 2 days. The 4th replacement arrived yesterday and I cannot get it to pair with my phone. I have a MOTOG 8Lite.

One time I try it says searching for the tracker, when it is right next to it, and still it can't find it. Then another time the app says the firmware needs updating, but when I try to do this, if it actually manages to find my tracker, it then tells me it is updating but actually it isn't, the progress bar doesn't move at all and the charge 3 tracker just keeps saying fitbit/setup.

 

Anyone had similar issues?? 

I have literally tried everything, taken off the app, reinstalled it, Turned my phone off and on, turned bluetooth off and on, taken off anything else that was connected to bluetooth. I have done a short re start, a long re start and also a factory re start as directed by the support staff who have now raised a case, but I can't believe in 13 months I have had 4 trackers that just do not seem to work.

I got the tracker to go running with, but now I think i should have bought a proper running watch.  I am waiting for support to come back to me, but I am losing the will to live. I'm concerned that there is an issue with the Charge 3 tracker series, as a few people seem to be having .

I have had several issues with my charge 3 too. I got it last Jan and loved it at first. It is easy to become dependent on viewing the data. First, the screen died after 2 months. They sent a new one. Then I had issues with syncing (this was last year...and we still have ongoing issues with this!!!). Data would either completely fail to log or completely disappear after appearing to successfully log. The step count would suddenly double only to drop down again. One day I got the 10,000 step celebration animation 3 times. After awhile, I stopped wearing it & switched brands. Since I like some aspects of the data it logs I kept giving it more chances. I learned to live with step count jumping around. I put up with having to put it in the charger to reset multiple times hoping that maybe this would be the time it actually

syncs. I have deleted and reinstalled the app more times than I can count. Each time, the workarounds eventually stop working so I stop wearing it and give it a few months; hoping that they will finally release the fix. Usually, it mostly works for a week before the same issues pop up again. At this point, I am utterly frustrated and don’t feel that the company is listening to users. I’m just outside of the warranty window so I fear that they are just hoping I’ll fade away.

this morning I tried again, and the app has found my charge 3 and says it is setting it up, but......... its been at 1% now for 30 mins and I suspect its not going to work 😞

So disappointed, as like you I really like the charge 3 and the data you can get but I can't have this constant battle of it not working.

so I got as far as 1% all day insetting up my charge 3 and had to stop as I needed my phone for something else. Ive tried again tonight, the app said it had found the tracker and started to download the update, but now its stuck on 2% and the tracker is still showing Fitbit.com/setup with no progress line so i guess it won't work again.

 

Haven't had an answer from support since last night and feel now like they too have given up as they don't know what else to suggest. It appears when the app does recognise the tracker, the problem is with the updating, it just gets stuck on either 1% or 2% and thats it doesn't actually update.

 

Come on Fitbit please sort this out . I cannot try anymore links or tips as non of them work. The problem is with the update and most people are saying the same/ This is a brand new tracker and I just can't get it to update never mind get it paired!  If a Fitbit moderator reads this please give the support team a nudge as I do still want help to get this resolved.
