Unable to setup device with Samsung A40

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello,

I was loving my charge 2 and had it connected for a few days to my brand new Samsung A40 when all of a sudden it stopped connecting.

It wont even allow my Fitbit to connect to the phones bluetooth.  I get as far as having the code sent to the Fitbit to add my device but it never gets any farther. I've already spoke with customer service and gone through all of the trouble shooting. How can I be allowed to download the app, yet not be able to use the Fitbit properly. This is extremely frustrating  and disappointing.  I shouldn't have to use another device to continually sync. Will there be a future solution? I've been using this charger habitually for about 2 years and now I can't. I've always been a major advocate  for Fitbit, but this just seems so silly

I could not wait any longer. I'm using an iPhone 6 now. The Charge 2 works fine now...

Hi
No, it won't work on most of the latest modern “Android version 9” Samsung Galaxy phones apart from the S6,7,8,9 &10. It still won't work on A40 phone. Or any of the A series latest models just released this year!

In the short term it still works on my old Samsung (just about)

Some of the phones like the S8 are not upgradable to Android version 10 when released.
I'm just going to put it down to experience and never buy another Fitbit product again. It is quite a bizarre situation in this day and age. So sorry you have been let down by Fitbit as well.

Good Luck

After days of posting this and of trying it randomly started to pair again.
It was working from august until now (after it only worked from june to
july when I bought the phone) with no problems and now it's not connecting
anymore. I have the same problem and I dont even have a device on the
account anymore 😞

No still not sorted!! Becoming very frustrating !! Fitbit sent a replacement Charge 2 and cant do anything with it. It says its syncing but it's not pairing and unable to update tracker and no screen apart from  set up screen . Just tried it on my brand new laptop and still the same absolutely nothing.. it's a joke my sons Ace is fine on both devices so its definitely the Charge2 and  Fitbits problem.. Not my phone as it worked for months until the update in November! Not a happy customer !

I'm going to try my computer now, but I was told my tech support that this
specific phone that I gave isnt connected with Fitbit, which is annoying
because it's a brand new phone and it was working and then stopped working
and then worked and stopped. Its It's very frustrating! It worked fine on
my crap xiaomi phone before and now on a new samsung it doesnt

Hi - I am having this issue now - however it worked fine until last Friday when the app was updated! So now it wont pair - I get the code but that's as far as it gets. Not getting anywhere with customer support other than being advised to get a new phone! My phone is only 8 weeks old and worked fine till last week - why would I change my phone for another update to render my charge 2 useless!

Mine still isnt working and having the exact same problem. I have been
using my gfs phone to sync. It's completely unacceptable for them to buy a
new phone, are they kidding me?! Mine is also relatively new! (Was brand
new when the problem started the first time!) You can't say that it works
with droid and iOS and then say, oh accept this one. I'm curious to know if
it's just the charge 2 or all fitbit products

Hi was never able to sync my phone. like you I got as far as the code but nothing further. I ended up buying a dongle and syncing to my laptop. After that for some reason the info is on my phone. I cant get message alerts on my fit bit but all the step and calorie burning info can be veiwed on my phone.

this is the message i got through FB about this.

Hello Disappoited me. Thanks for reaching out and sharing this community link. Please note that the Samsung A40 is not yet included in our roster of supported devices: https://www.fitbit.com/devices. Although you may be able to install and use the Fitbit app, consistent and full functionality isn't guaranteed since it isn't certified by our engineers to fully work with the Fitbit app. We recommend using a compatible device listed on the link we provided earlier to manage and sync your Fitbit device.

Currently, we have no ETA on when this will be addressed. Nevertheless, our team continues to work on making our app compatible with as many devices as possible. As the testing process takes quite some time, we don't have any set time frame on when certain devices, such as the Samsung A40, will be fully supported. We recommend keeping an eye on https://www.fitbit.com/devices as this is what we will be updating once the device is included in the list. Also, you can share your feedback with our Development Team by going to: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/idb-p/features. In the meantime, we'll be here if you have any other concerns.

I don't have my old phone that worked with this app so my charge 2 is usseles now.

I guess there is no reason to buy new stuff from fitbit sinds it takes forever to change and addept some lines of code in your app.

I got the same bog standard reply from fitbit - my gripe is that I got my new phone in October and it worked perfectly until their November update! I certainly wont buy another fitbit now

It's an absolute joke!! Got my new phone back in June and it was working fine until the update also in November.  For fitbit to just keep saying they are not compatible is just rubbish as it was working. It must be the update and I'm fed up of being fobbed off with excuses! Even tried it on my new laptop and it doesn't work ! My sons ace 2 works perfectly fine on my phone so why doesn't my charge 2  oh cause they messed up the update hoping people will buy new for Christmas!!  So cross.. tempted to take it further trading standards or martin Lewis

I have just joined the club, exactly same problem with my A40 that I have had for a couple of months. Was using lovely Flex 2 but today given up on it and back to my old Alta which at least I can see on my wrist and sync on my laptop. Will Fitbit let us know when this problem is fixed or is it because they don't want us to purchase the cheaper Flex? Like me I expect others out there want to wear a conventional watch.
