Uncomfortable to wear Charge 4

I just got my first Fitbit, it's a Charge 4 and the pictures made it look quite slimline but when I received it today and put it on, I was surprised by how bulky the back of the device was and how the sensor sticks out. I thought it would have been flat and I'm finding it quite uncomfortable to wear on top of my wrist. I feel like it sticks into my forearm bones even when on loosely.

My wrist is smallish at about 6 inches/15cm in diameter. I tried switching it to the inside of my wrist where the arm is a bit softer and flatter and this is a little more comfortable, but I can't wear it that way when typing. I definitely can't see myself sleeping with this thing on which somewhat defeats the purpose of having it!

My question is - would I be better off getting an Inspire 2 or will that have the same issues with the sensor sticking out?

Additional initial observations. I've worn it for about an hour now and upon taking it off, I feel some tenderness along the edge of the radius bone of the forearm where I feel it sticks in.

I was very happy with the fit of the Alta HR. When the battery started draining too fast, after a few years, I considered switching to Inspire. I found it very uncomfortable. Exactly as you are describing the Charge, the sensors are on a bump that, combined with the placement of the thin bracelet, pressed hard on my wrist on a very limited area. The Alta HR was almost continuous with its band, making it comfortable, and I did not mind the thickness.

I know it’s been two years since this post, but I just go the Luxe and I’m having the exact same issue. Did you ever find something that’s more comfortable?

Hi Malena, I have the new Charge (5?) now and it feels better. I have the armband a bit loose, and given the bigger width of the sensor it felt better than the Luxe.

If you can go to a shop where they have them on display you could try it out and see how it fits on your wrist.
