I have my calorie goal manually set at 1700. Today I've eaten 1682 and burned 2100 but it's saying I'm over?

Hello @SophHarps, welcome to the Community forums, it's good to see you around for the first time.

I'd would like to add some more information here about the calorie deficit information that you see in  your Fitbit app:

  1. Over budget .More calories have been eaten than the food plan (desired deficit), there may still be a deficit, and still loosing weight, but not as much as the selected weight loss plan.
  2. Under budget .More can be eaten (up to 'in range' / green zone) to stay within the food plan, when being under the deficit will be larger than the selected deficit and more weight will be lost instead.
  3. In zone .Stay in this zone to keep on track to stay within the desired deficit, when watching the food plan, you are able to see how many calories can be eaten for the day. The zone chart only looks at the total intake / calories burned since midnight 'till (now). When eating more calories (according to the food plan allowance) more can be eaten but the chart can display being over at the moment since the body didn't burned as many calories yet. When staying within the food plan, even when being over at the moment (eating more at dinner), it will drop back to 'within range' during the day.

  4. Calories left. It means that you can eat that many calories between now and midnight and end the calendar day in zone.

The budget is based on your food and weight loss plan. If you set it for a pound a week, then it subtracts the 500 calories on the daily total for your intake. You can be over budget (within the 500 calorie deficit) but still have calories left to be at neutral. It is important to remember that it is based on your deficit that you set when you set up your Fitbit.

You can find more useful information here about the food plan: How do I track my food with Fitbit?

I hope this helps, please keep me posted.

I understand how the calories work when you set it up through 'help me set a goal', but I have it set up through 'I want to set my own goal'. Rather than having a flexible limit, I have it set at 1700 calories everyday.

Thank you for your reply @SophHarps, and for this information.

Could you please also confirm if you're seeing the "Over" calorie indicator at the beginning of the day, or if you're seeing this message right at the end after you've synced all your information to your account?

The end. It shows as 'over' at around 1300 calories in, regardless of how many I have burnt.

Did this get resolved because mine is doing the same. I’m eating below my target and in the graph it is saying I’m over on my calorie intake. Which is incorrect??

Hi, welcome to the forums @Kacey34

Thank you for your inquiry about the calorie intake indicator. Could you please confirm if you're seeing the "Over" budget indicator at the beginning of the day, or towards the end as well?

In the meantime, please try logging out from the app, then restart the phone and log back in to check if you continue to see the same information.

Keep me posted.

I have tried all the recommendations listed above and am still having the same issue. I have a static calorie goal of 1850. I am well under With 1710 calories in and 2440 calories out. There is no way this is correct. Some help would be nice!
