Up all night but Charge 2 registered normal 7 hours sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was up all night and did not go to be bed until 9 the following night. The Charge registered a normal 7 hours cycle even though I had not even laid down once in that time.

when I have other bad night’s sleep these are registered. Why the mistake this time?

Hey @Raffles, welcome to the Fitbit forums! What I think that could have happened, is that, maybe you didn't move too much during the period of time you should be sleeping, so your Charge 2 detects the lack of movement as sleep. Let me explain this to you more clearly. Autodetection is based on your movement. When you haven’t moved for about an hour, your device assumes that you’re asleep. Additional data—such as the length of time your movements are indicative of sleep behavior (such as rolling over)—help confirm that you’re asleep. Morning movement tells your tracker that you’re awake. If you’re not moving but not asleep for long periods of time it’s possible for your device to falsely record sleep, in which case you can delete the sleep log from your history. Take a look at the information in this help article: How do I change my sleep history? to do so.

It diesn’t Work in this context. Before when I have been in bed, lying still but not sleeping it hadregisters awake times and times of REM. That fits with your explanation.

On Weds night I was walking around as normal around a house. Standing up for long periods. Going up and down stairs. Making cups of tea. Sitting down on occasion. Heart rate probably high due to the stress of the situation. There is no way it could have registered inactivity or any approximating sleep.

Thanks for the clarification @Raffles. Yes, I thought that maybe you were just laying but no sleeping so the inactivity was tracked as sleep, but since you have confirmed that you were very active, there is no way it could have tracked sleep. Let me suggest you something, try to restart your Charge 2 by following the instructions in this post. We can avoid this from happening again.

In addition, you can try to edit your sleep history by following these instructions.

Let me know how it goes!

I’ve realised what happened. The Fitbit lists the nights sleep as the next day. So Weds night sleep was Thursday. It did not register any sleep for Weds/Thurs. i’d Looked at the previous night.

just shows what missing a night’s sleep does to your mental processes!
