Using the driving activity to cancel out steps

Hi, I am trying to cancel out some steps by logging a driving activity.  This seems to be the recommended method of dealing with this issue.  The problem is that when add the activity it does not seem to remove the steps from my total.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

FYI, Im trying to follow the steps outlined in This FAQ.

I created a new event type and was unable to delete it from the list of possible events.

You may have to contact Fitbit. I suggest include a link to this thread.

How do you do that though?  I ride horses every morning and it logs thousands of steps.  I want to be able to add that activity to my watch, hit it when I start and end.  In a pinch, I could do that using driving (which I think is really stupid but whatever).  Is there really no way to PERMANENTLY add an activity that becomes available as a selection on the watch.... nuts!

@mjbarkaszi their are about 20 different exercises that can be added to the watch.

Can custom exercises be added? No, since a programmer will be needed for each exercise that's added.

Thanks Rich. I contacted them and they confirmed that "there is no way to delete the drive log activity".

Fitbit Charge is a great product but the floors thing sucks.
Today my Fitbit logged a few floors while I was doing wakeboard and kicker-jumping.

If I added a Driving activity, it would remove the calories.
