Voice cues not announcing thru iphone speakers

Hello. I have a charge 2 and the voice cues for running are set to every .5 miles and High volume. I run with GPS tracking enabled on the fitbit app on my iphone 5 SE. Throughout my 3 mile run I never once hear a voice cue. I have tracked my runs on occasion using an app “runkeeper” and this gives voice cues through the iphone. I have tried resetting the iphone and the fitbit but still no voice cues.

Does the Charge 2 give voice cues? Mine never has.

To get voice cues, you have to start run from phone app, not from tracker itself.

Great! I just tested this with a walk and it worked as advertised. I did not even know you could initiate and exercise tracking within the app. I have always just started tracking with the button on the fitbit. Thanks for your help.

I think that is the only advantage of starting from app.  I assume it was there originally for trackers with no buttons and before auto-recognize.
