Went for a 2 hour walk. Felt great so I was interested in looking at my statistics. Watch registered right amount of steps, 23 thousand :heavy_plus_sign:. BUT I read of thrilling me the time I walked, 2 hours :heavy_plus_sign:, is claimed I walked for 38 minutes from the time I started at 8:30 pm, and then it claimed I walked for 17 minutes , the last 17 minutes I walked because it claimed I ended up that 17 minute walk at time I really ended the 2 hr walk. I feel cheated plus it is nonsense, is my watch broken ?

I see some typos on y original message, I meant to say "watch registered the right amount of steps 23 thousand plus" The watch recorded the right amount of total steps at 23 thousand plus, but rather than telling me I walked for 2 hours plus, from 8:30 to 10:30 something, it claimed I walked from 8:30 till 9:08 (38 minutes) and then it registered another walk of 17 minutes that finished at 10:30 something, so it did not registered anything that happened in between the 38th minute and the 17 minutes prior to the end of the 2 hour plus walk. I feel cheated

Atleast you got that. Mine stopped counting steps right too. I went from getting thousands of steps a day to 100's..... I used to come in first on all the games now I'm usually last.
I have no clue what happened or how to fix it. And I got premium too....It's very discouraging and I want to cancel the plan and find something that actually works🙄

I just walked 3 hours on my treadmill as I do everyday as I have a treadmill desk. Most days I walk about 7 hours as instead of sitting all day when I work I walk and it is non stop from 2.2 MPH to 3.2 MPH on a 4% incline all day everyday 7 days a week. Well my new fitbit apparently does not like how much I walk because in the first 2 days it stated I walked less than an hour yet my treadmill says near added to 13 hours 58 minutes. I mean that a HUGE discrepancy over 13 hours?
I believe it because I type as I work and I dont swing my arms, but my heart goes from 90 to 130bpm. Funny thing is my Garmin is literally 2 minutes off my 13 hour 58 minutes walk so apparently Garmin does not rely on the arm swing in the same way, apparently Garmin has a triple axis accelerometer, maybe Fitbit is not triple axis or just does not work as well, not sure.
The fitbit manual state this" If you're doing something like pushing a stroller or shopping cart, your wrist-based device will count your steps but the total may be slightly lower than usual. Well 12 hours isn't acceptable! I figure it's because am on a treadmill so it cant use GPS/.
So for me the fitbit just does not work ad I'll have to rely on the treadmill and enter it in manually everyday, what a shame. I would think an algorithm using heart beats after a few tests with stride and a walk test combined with heart rate comparisons combined with me clicking treadmill so the fitbit know I am on a treadmill could be implemented to get way closer of an accurate tome adn step count. If my heart goes to 90bpm for 6hours and my resting heart rate in the fitbit is 58 the math is there to come closer than 12 hours off from not swing my arms.
Fitbit needs to offer an add one device for the ankle. I know the fitbit does not work on the ankle and who wants that thing on their ankle the Sensen is too large, but what would it take for a very simple thin small strap for the ankle to communicate from ankle to the fitbit for us non arm swingers. I would buy it tomorrow!
I am surprised with treadmill desk now more people have not complained about this. If anyone knows of a device like this please let me know!

Okay I bought a Fitbit Inspire 2 and strapped it on my leg. It works perfectly counting steps on my treadmill and matching my actual treadmill to a tee!
So right now I have a Whoop on my right arm, a galaxy watch on my left arm(I don't wear a Sense anymore) and a Ftibit Inspire two on my calf.
I love the Fitbit app and really would love the Samsung and Fitbit to play nice, but for steps they won't. Even with Health sync now Samsung forbids step counts to be written in by other apps like Fitbit, it used to work but no longer.
Whoop app for heart information is miles ahead with it's 100 times per second checking of the heart. SO unitl someday when they all play nice it is 3 devices and 3 apps, I hate that.
At least the Fitbit gives me a good count on my treadmill app now, but only the Insopre work on the calf in my experience.
Even the sleep and other function seem to work very well on my calf and only ever so different reading from the Sense wrist comparisons when I tested it adn slightly different form Galaxy Watch 4(Samsung Health app that I dont like ).
So if anyone has a treadmill desk like me just strap on an Inspire 2 to your calf and you are golden.
