Nice to see you here @Terra98! Let me give you a hand with this.

Most Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities at least 15 minutes long through the SmartTrack feature. It will recognize workouts or activities where there is continuous, movement.

This workouts include:

  • Walking
  • Running
  • Outdoor Biking
  • Elliptical
  • Sport -- recognizes high-movement sports like tennis, basketball, soccer and others.
  • Aerobic Workout -- recognizes aerobic activities that involve continuous movement, like Zumba, cardio-kickboxing and other dance classes.

Choose which activities your device tracks automatically, or change the amount of time required for the activity to be recorded. For example, you can choose to track certain activities—such as walk, run, or swim—after only 10 minutes of movement.

  • FITBIT APP
    1. On the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history.
    2. Tap the gear icon (User-added image).
    3. Tap an exercise and adjust the duration or turn off Auto-recognize.
  • FITBIT.COM DASHBOARD
    1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard and click the gear icon in the top right corner.
    2. Click Settings > your device image.
    3. Find and change the option for Auto-Exercise Recognition.

Note that you can change how your activity is labeled in your exercise history. For example, your device might detect a walk, but you can edit your exercise history to record a hike.

PS. I have moved your post to the Charge 3 board, for you to have a better option to get a good response from users.

I have a following question:

is it better if I only synch my workouts (runs) and not a casual walk?
