Have you tried? What works for one oerson may not work for another.
The tracker being away from the wrist should help, but if it is on to tight it can cause circulation problems preventing a good heart reading.

I do Kettlebell workouts with heavy kettlebells ALL THE TIME, and for these workouts, wearing the fitbit in the normal position won't do. So I wear it way up on my fore-arm, but using a sweatband to keep it in place. Obviously none of the straps out there will go around the upper forearm.
And it tracked my HR even better there than on my sweaty wrists. So in my experience, this works 100%.
I wish fitbit could make a stretchable strap that allows one to wear it on the upper forearm without having to macgyver it into place with a sweatband or similar.

The best way to answer your question @Liamhigh24 is to try it, then report back with your findings.
@Zooter have you checked Amazon, they have a wide selection of bands.

If you search on Amazon, you can get an extension strap, that may work

thanks! this helped a lot. Wasn't comfortable wearing it around wrist so moved up arm. Makes all the difference.

Well I actually started to wear it around my ankle when doing Kettlebell-related exercises, and works just as well as the fore-arm method, all with the normal strap 🙂

I've seen other optical devices work on the forearm. So I was coming here to find an appropriate strap. I also hear it works on the ankle, but strides get messed up. (double or half count), but at work, it will have to go down there. I do massage, so while forearms will work in most of my activities, occasionally I will have to do more.
I just hope fitbit eventually gets a setting to say where it's located. Half the reason I am getting this is the advanced features vs a dumb heart rate monitor only.

The stride has nothing to do with where the Fitbit is worn. The stride setting is a number that the user enters, or a calculation based on age, height, gender, etc.
For some trackers, with using the GPS the running stride can be calculated by Fitbit.
While on the arm, Fitbit uses the arm motions to detrrmine what the legs are doing.
If on the ankle, Fitbit will use the algorithm for wearing on the arm, while monitoring the movement of the feet.

Just ordered charge 4 but also KB frequently so very interested if an arm band could be found and if the HR sensor still works.
