Weight watchers: Daily steps and activity separated or not?

Hi all! I have a Charge 2, and also follow Weight Watchers but even notice this in my Fitbit App so here is my question:

Is my recognized aerobic workout (or any activity) on fitbit separated from total step count for the day?

What I mean by this is let’s say I get 8,000 steps a day and 3,000 of those steps come from doing an activity or aerobic workout. Would Fitbit make my daily steps 5,000 and separate my activity? This would be a more accurate read. Or do they keep it at 8,000 steps for the day and still separate my activity? If the later is the case, that means I’m earning fit points on weight watchers for 11,000 steps instead of 5,000 steps and whatever I earn from my activity.

Any help is much appreciated!

But if you use the exercise mode it when doing an exercise it will separate them. You can set up 7 exercise shorts cuts and use those when doing an activity. I would make one of them Workout so if it is not listed then you can rename it when it syncs

Manual is here so you can understand how this works

Hmm, thanks for your insight @WendyB.

I suppose I’m just still confused. My Charge 2 FitBit automatically recognizes activity that is more than 15 mins (manual setting I made) and syncs with my WW app.

In my WW tracker when that activity synced this morning, I earned 4 fitpoints for that separated aerobic workout.

i am also earning regular steps towards my daily goal of 8,000.

Maybe a better question would have been, is my aerobic workout being incorporated somehow into my total steps for the day? Is my WW tracker taking that aerobic workout and translating it into steps to give me additional steps for the day?

I’m concerned that I’m earning “extra fit points”  which looks nice on paper but isn’t accurate and can mess me up when I decide to eat an activity point I think “I’ve earned.

I personally think WW gives you more exercise points than you actually earn.

But your questions need to be answered by WW themselves. It's how they bring them over.

It's a WW problem not a Fitbit problem

Hi all, I posted a question earlier but wanted to clarify it. Hopefully this makes more sense. I appreciate any insight:

If you look at your Activity tab on WW it should tell you what you need to know.

I just looked at mine and all it is pulling across is the steps I do.

It does sometimes pull across a walk I  did and it gave me points for that Plus my steps. So yeah I got credit for it twice. That's why I dont pay to much attention to it as it is not accurate at all

I mean I got 9 points for 8000 steps. That's just wrong In my opinion

The info here is very good:

https://www.weightwatchers.com/ca/en/article/common-fitness-questions

In short, if your fitbit is synced to your WW app, all of your fitpoints will automatically transfer and be calculated for you based on your steps. You should not enter additional activity into the WW app.

Sorry, I forgot to add that when the WW app shows a recognized activity like walking, those additional points are awarded for increased heart rate etc

I’m having the same problem with my FitBit Charge. I’ve read a dozen of these message boards and asked one of the WW coaches, and I still haven’t gotten an answer. I’ve disconnected my FitBit from my WW account, updated both apps, and then reconnected, and nothing. I’ve come to the conclusion nobody knows why activity is being counted twice. I know it has to be wrong that I earn over 100 Fit Points in a week just by walking around my subdivision every day. Since nobody seems to know how to make FitBit and WW work properly together, I’d be happy with a formula for figuring out the accurate number of Fit Points. Deduct the points for the activity and just keep the points for the steps?
