It's not great coverage in the UK:

  • boon. by Wirecard
  • Danske Bank (Mastercard)
  • Santander
  • Starling Bank (Mastercard)

Keep an eye on https://www.fitbit.com/fitbit-pay/banks for any changes to that list

@ptanderton68 Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for posting your inquiry about the UK banks that are compatible with Fitbit Pay.

Are you looking for a bank in specific? If it is not showing on the list you can always search at the Feature Suggestions Board or post a new suggestions if it doesn't exist yet. I found this one you may find interesting:

Good thing is that the idea was categorized as Under Consideration, so please stay tuned to that idea for updates.

@SteveH Thanks for your awesome help on this thread!

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

I have just received my new Fitbit charge 3, which I bought because of the payment system. However, just trying to set this up, I found out that Fitbit is not supporting any of the normal standard UK banks and therefore it is completely useless for the UK. I am seriously angry as there was no warning about this in the UK. When are you setting up mormal banks, e.g. HSBC, John Lewis, First Direct???? These are the banks people are using in the UK. It seems nobody from Fitbit has done any research on this before setting this up. I am completely gutted and this after many many years of using the latest Fitbit devises.

Thanks for jumping in here @Brockenhurst! I totally understand your point my friend. As mentioned above, I'd recommend checking out our Feature Suggestion Board if you haven't already. This is a space where Community users can post features, ideas, and suggestions that they'd like to see in future Fitbit products, accessories, and software and top-voted suggestions get relayed to our product team for review.

I'd also recommend up-voting and commenting on the following feature suggestions as they might be similar of what you're looking for:

Most of these banks suggestions are marked as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQsRobot wink

If you want to add more banks to the Feature Suggestion board, please try to make sure you only post one idea per suggestion, so we can keep the board organized, easily searchable and see which idea other members are voting for.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I just set up an online account with Starling bank so I can use my fitbit with it. It took very little time to set up and I'm impressed with them so far. Less impressed with the fitbit instructions for how to use this feature though. My charge 3 arrived today and I cannot figure out how the payment feature works. Can anyone direct me to any instructions?

Welcome here @SusaretowTo start, add at least 1 credit or debit card from a participating bank to the Wallet section of the Fitbit app:

  1. With your device nearby, from the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Tap the Wallet tile.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to add a payment card. In some cases, your bank may require additional verification. If you’re setting up Fitbit Pay for the first time, you may be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN code for your device. Note that you also need passcode protection enabled for your phone.
  4. After you add a card, follow the on-screen instructions to turn on notifications for your phone (if you haven’t already done so) to complete the setup.

You can add up to 5 cards to the Wallet, and choose which card to set as the default payment option on your device.

To pay with your device (all customers except those in Australia):

  1. When you’re ready to pay, press and hold the left button on your device for 2 seconds. Swipe to the Payments screen if it's not shown.
  2. If prompted, enter your 4-digit PIN code. Your default card appears on the screen.
  3. To pay with your default card, hold your wrist near the payment terminal. To pay with a different card: tap Charge 3, to find the card you want to use. Then hold your wrist near the payment terminal. User-added image
  4. When the payment succeeds, your device vibrates and you’ll see a confirmation on the screen.

If the payment terminal doesn’t recognize Fitbit Pay, make sure the device face is near the reader and that the cashier knows you’re using a contactless payment.

Customers in Australia:

  1. If you have a credit or debit card from an Australian bank, hold your device near the payment terminal to pay. If your card is from a bank outside of Australia, complete steps 1 and 2 above.
    User-added image
  2. If prompted, enter your 4-digit PIN code.
  3. If the purchase amount exceeds $100 AU, follow the instructions on the payment terminal. If prompted for a PIN code, enter the PIN code for your card (not your device).

Hope this helps, I'll be around if you need further help!

Thanks Steve for linking the help page. But I've failed at the first hurdle - I can't find a 'Fitbit Wallet' tile 😞

It might be because you need the latest charge 3 firmware for pay to work. See https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-3/Charge-3-Firmware-Release-1-44-33/td-p/3042257

This has only just be released with the availability of the special edition charge 3

Thanks, that was probably right. I deleted the Charge 3 from the app, re-installed it and found the Wallet with no problems 🙂

I'm so furious with fitbit after many failings with their previous products we have now gone for the versa because if the payment options....of course it doesn't advertise that virtually no banks cove their pay feature....we also have a set if scales for a few years we spent 150 quid on which has never synced....What a complete waste of money, it's just a glorified step counter...speechless at theirs false advertising of their products

Welcome on board @Lisswin, it's nice to have a new member around! Since you've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, to clarify, your phone (not just watch) will have to be paired to the same Wi-Fi network as your United. I would also double check to make sure Bluetooth is enabled.

You can then start the setup process from the United app located on your watch face (do not start from within the United app). You will then be given the correct prompts to finish the setup process.

Also, make sure that United's app is up to date.

Give this a go and let me know the outcome!
