It's normal, those are the heart rate sensors.

@Micheletv123 I hope you're doing well! Happy to see that @Amy1015 was able to explain what the lights on the back of your tracker are. Don't feel bad as this is a really good question for any user so if you would like to know more about your new Charge 2 you can check it's manual here.
Let me know how it goes!

So what does it mean when you have 2 green lights flashing after your fitbit dies on you and you plug it in to charge, but nothing happens? No charging has happened since I plugged it in over 6 hours ago, but the two green lights are still flashing. Also keep in mind that my last sync was done on July 19th because neither my phone nor my iPad can see the fitbit to sync it?

@Jessmp213 Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! Sorry to hear that your tracker isn't working. The green lights are the part of the heart rate sensor. If the tracker shows these lights it means that it is charging. If you don't see anything on the screen it could be an issue with the display itself. Try restarting your tracker by doing the following:
Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.
Keep me posted!

I have the exact same issue with the green lights flashing non-stop and no response on the display. It will not charge and my phone app does not see it to sync. I've cleaned the contacts and I've tried to restart it and no response to anything.

Thank you for your reply...I was helped but it did not solve my problems with my Charge 2 which is/was only 1 yr and 4 months in use by me. That said, they provided me with a 25% discount for a new one but that still costs $100 for something that shouldn't have failed so soon.

Does the green flashing lights on the back of the Fitbit change 2 give off radiation?

@ChloeYas It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Thank you for your inquiry. Fitbit trackers operate at such low RF power levels that they are exempt from the evaluation used for other devices (like cell phones). This means our trackers are in a completely separate category, and emit significantly less energy than phones or other RF devices. I know that it's easy to worry about things like RF exposure, but hopefully it helps to hear that our products operate far below FCC compliance levels, and are considered to be completely safe.
Let me know how it goes!

I got my fitbit charge 2 for Christmas and have just tried to install it. App won't connect, fitbit dead except for two green lights on back. Charged for 24 hours now.

There are 2 blinking lights that are touching your skin so its right that they are the heart rate sensors. But recently, after updating to the new syatem released by Fitbit, my device now flashes two green lights like a hazard light (in cars) and system has become slow. What does this mean? battery also dies out after half a day with or without activities
