What should I do with my old tracker?

For anyone that has received a replacement Charge 2, did you automatically get rid of your old one or did you hang on to it for a short time - if it still worked (but you weren't happy with it for whatever reason to get a replacement). What did you then do with the old one of you were happy with the new one?

I'm expecting delivery of a replacement but slivhtly reluctant to get rid of the original straight away incase the new one has the same issue.

If they do not ask you to return the old tracker, you are free to do with it as you wish.

In the ideal world you would do what Fitbit requests you to do.

I have noticed a lot of non-wotking fitbits for sale on ebay, i wonder...

I had to have my Charge 2 replaced, the screen cracked and the band broke.  I was not asked to return any of the broken parts.  I kept my old  Charge 2.  I can buy an new band, and even though the screen is cracked, it works and I hope my son will want to use it.  Hang on to the broken one, at least for a while.

@LeiWilson Thanks for joining us!  Another option for when you receive the replacement, you could recycle your defective tracker at an e-waste recycling facility. Although, if yours is still working just like the one @ratfishlady has, then you could offer it to a relative or a friend.

Good idea, Did you lose your fitness information within the app when you set up your new tracker? I'm not certain about the complete process. Thank you.

@Fitisit thanks for stopping by! Actually by setting up your new tracker all of your info such as your stats, historical trends, goals, exercise history, food and water logs, challenges and friends will still be on your Fitbit account. 

This is because you're setting up a new tracker and not setting up a new account. Hope this makes sense!

idk if this is a silly question then, if an old fitbit no longer works, is it possible that any of  your personal info can still be mined off of it?

@frankie_donuts that is not possible. No personal info is stored on the tracker besides a virtual credit card that is if Fitbit pay has been setup. 

The card can be revoked through the Fitbit app, Fitbit.com or the bank.
