So I've been waiting for a while for a new firmware update, and it appears after the latest one the new firmware's is rarely happening. Fitbit is taking their effort in releasing new devices, yet I have a feeling they don't pay much attention anymore to their latest Fitbit Charge 3 device anymore.
I'm talking about firmware updates that includes/enables/adds:
- SpO2 (Seriously, it's overdue, do something about this!)
- Keep device/clock screen on permanently or Longer Screen Time.
- Improve auto brightness in darkness.
- Rearrange/Customize Charge 3 Apps/Stats View
- Find your phone
- Log water intake on the Charge 3
And the list goes on. Some of these "suggestions" aren't even supposed to be suggestions but should be as default in the software, imo. Such as the SpO2. Some devices already have it for ages, yet... for some odd reason no GUI was implemented for it yet. BUT was advertised (in the beginning) that it included a Sp02 sensor so you'd assume it included a way of seeing that as well.
Getting a bit tired of waiting, honestly.. Especially for a 150$ device.

Hi there @Skyrider, thanks for stopping by! I totally understand how you feel. Thank you for the thorough feedback for the Fitbit devices. Fitbit has been designed to provide motivation and help you to reach your daily goals to success. Please know that we provide feedback to our team based on community posts and we are always working on improving our devices and overall environment based on that feedback.
We don't have any specific date or time frame on when a new firmware update for Charge 3 may be available.
Fitbit occasionally releases free feature enhancements and bug fixes for your device through firmware and Fitbit OS updates. For details about each type of update, see What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update? and What's changed in the latest Fitbit OS update?
I really appreciate you've shared what you would like to see implemented on Charge 3. I was making some research and was able to find these ideas asking for the same:
Please cast a vote for the idea and leave a comment to show support for them. For anything else you would like to see implemented in the future, consider visiting our Feature Suggestions board. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.
At this time we don't have any updates to share with you about SpO2. We redirected you to our blog where all updates have been shared. So, see: https://blog.fitbit.com/fitbit-labs/
Let me know if there's anything else I may assist you with.

Hey @MarreFitbit
The "suggestions" I posted were direct copy/pasts of the suggestion section. I shouldn't have to "vote" for these features as they should be in by default.
As for the SpO2. Does the Fitbit team really need over a year to implement a GUI? Technically I paid for the SpO2 sensor as well (as that's part of the hardware) which is nonfunctional.
As for the firmware update.. Why is this always unknown? It can't be hard to share some insights on the next firmware update... If it's actually being worked on that is.

I asked the same thing and didn't get an answer. We seriously need a firmware update giving us new features!

If that's the case, why are new devices being created rather than working on existing ones firmware and software wise?

Yeah! Indeed inform us about what is being worked on instead of only directing us to some topics that we vote for and at the end they are never considered. SpO2 was a big part of the advertisement of this product and at the end turned out not to be working. Fitbit at least inform your community on firmware updates and give us hints on what is going to be released and when ....

SAME. And can we get chatter/motivational
messages? Like, since when does a newer model of anything have less than the one prior? Booooooooooo...

So clearly my reply was being removed.. As to why exactly?
I merely stated my mind that the above reply claims it would be forwarded, yet it's more than normal to provide firmware to devices you are selling. I also said that it looks to me like you guys attempt to sell devices as fast as possible and move on to the next "money grabbing" product.

Or they messed up the spo2 hardware and now can't admit it's faulty and are trying to sell as much as they can until they can't fake it anymore ..

Will fitbit ever figure out why the Charge 3 takes DAYS to sync!!!!??? And why the screen wont toggle every other day?? Ive been a fitbit customer for quite sometime but I think it's time to give someone else a try.

Hmm.. I have yet to encounter that problem. Where did you buy yours? Mine came with an update as soon as I hooked it up. No actual functional issues but I just think it should supply more than it does and have things the Charge 2 possess.

I got 1 for my daughter. It was her first so she is happily content knowing the steps are off by thousands.
I got another for my wife. She had a pedometer she felt was accurate. The steps were off consistently by 10,000. Returned it for not fit for purpose.
So it looks like new users don't know the steps are off so much.
But experienced users are returning them in droves.
I'm retired and a software developer for 35+ years and would be happy to investigate if they had developers environment we could use.

How is this going?
When will Fitbit have some real information to give us?
Actual timeline estimate... just anything that isnt:

Finally got the daughter fitbit from her. She still wears it and downloads the info each night. Went into JB HiFi. Went to the counter since I couldn't find anyone on the floor. Yep. No problem. She just turned around and grabbed one of many of all models off the back counter. Like they were expecting multiple replacements of each model They didn't even open the box of the one I was holding to look inside. It was so easy to replace I went ahead and purchased another 2 years warranty. If the daughter is happy with it then who am I to say otherwise. Maybe this one will last more than a few months.
