Where can I change the pool length on my Charge 3?

Spoiler
I have Yards set as my Swimming distance unit, and my swim results are shown in Yards, but the Pool length that it uses as a basis is shown as 25 meters ... where as the pools I use are all 25 yards. Since it uses how many laps I swim and I believe multiples it by the pool length, the results are incorrect. I can find no way to change the pool length?

Attached photo shows how many Yards I supposedly swam, but the pool length, upper right corner is shown as 25 meters.

OK ... BREAK THROUGH! Turns out that even though the Display shows "25 Meter" pool, it's calculating in YARDS! I guess it Knows That from measuring my lap distances? So 73 laps times 25 meters is 1,825 Meters, but it IS translating that into Yards. Whew ... 🙂

It might help if we knew which tracker you are using.

Thanks!

After you select 'Swim' in the Exercise App, swipe up (scroll down) to see other settings specific to swim.  One is Pool Length where you can change the number and the units (meters or yards).

Hello @makofoto. Welcome to the community forums! @JohnnyRow Nice to see you around and thanks for your great input!

@makofoto Thank you very much for the detailed information and for the picture. Adding to JohnnyRow's post, I'd like to let you know that if you have additional questions or inquiries about how to track swims using your Charge 3, you can visit the following help article:

How do I track my swims with my Fitbit device?

On a side note, I've moved your post to the Other Charge Trackers board to keep our forums organized.

Hope this helps.

As you can see from this screen grab ... that is NOT an option on my Charge 3.  😞

It appears you are not using the Exercise App on your tracker, but instead you are relying on your swim being auto-recognized.  What I said above would apply if you use the Exercise App on your Charge 3.  From clock face, scroll right to 'Exercise', then scroll left or right to 'Swim'.  If Swim is not one of the options, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

If you prefer to stay with auto-recognition, try setting the Units.  On phone app:

Profile Pic > App Settings > Units > Length

Auto Recognize works for me. At the pool it’s very difficult for me to read the Charge 3 “face.” And I have trouble Starting the Swim app On and Off. Obviously I don’t have my glasses on in the pool.

So are we saying that I can not correct the Pool Length using Auto Recognition?

If I COULD use the Exercise app, how does one change the Pool Length with it?

Thanks … Fred "Almost 70" Koiwai

I did not say you could not correct the pool length.  I suggested changing the units to see if that works.

I’ve probably checked the Units perhaps 50 times over the last two years.

I’ve looked for the Mythical Change Pool lengths so often that I guess I could be considered Crazy … expecting to suddenly find it. 🙂

I’ve sent messages to FitBit on many occasions trying to get them to understand the problem, ie. The app using the wrong base line … 25 METERS … to calculate distance, in Yards. It would seem that the App multiples the Laps by 25 Meters, and then proclaims THAT That Result, in Yards, is your distance swam. The more laps you swim, the more the result is off.

Have you tried changing the units in the Exercise App for Swim as I originally suggested?

Perhaps 50 times over the last two years ... I've checked to make sure the Swim Unit Length is set to YARDS. I don't know why they make the Default Pool Length 25 METERS ... IN THE USA?
