My Windows 7 PC was unable to find a device driver for the Fitbit dongle. Windows Update was unable to locate a driver for it. I could not locate it on the Fitbit website either.

Hi @Windows7user,
As far as I can tell, there are no Fitbit-specific drivers for the dongle. Moderator @RickyFitbit posted the following steps to troubleshoot:
"The Dongle does not come with a built in driver. That being said, the Dongle pulls from your computers available drivers to connect with your computer. After speaking with our specialist, we recommend performing the following steps for a possible resolution:
1. Download and run CCleaner software (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner).
2. Under the Cleaner tab select "Analyze."
3. After the scan finishes, select "Run Cleaner."
4. Under the Registry tab select "Scan for Issues."
5. After the scan finishes select "Fix selected issues."
(Note: We highly recommended that you back up your registry when prompted.)
Next, please also:
1. Download and run Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/).
2. Under the Scanner tab perform a quick scan.
3. After the scan finishes, select the Quarantine tab and delete any threats found.
Following these scans, please uninstall the Fitbit Connect software entirely, restart your computer, and then reinstall directly from http://www.fitbit.com/start."
Hope this works for you.

After following these steps I get the same results when attempting to setup the Charge 2 tracker...the Fitbit Connect program crashes (window disappears after displaying a spinning symbol for about 2 minutes).

I went through the exact same proceedures and got the same results. I've spent about 5 hours trying to get the charge 2 to sink. Even swapped it at the shop but still no go. Would love somebody to list a solution.

Inside ring that Fitbit says that they do not support Win 7 anymore, your best courts is to go to one of the sites that archive past versions.
The other thing that has been mentioned is to use a supported device to set up the tracker.
Once setup a Fitbit dongle will be needed and since Fitbit only makes one version. Any Fitbit dongle that you may have will work.

@Windows7user @forsterbreak Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! The thing you can do is what @Rich_Laue suggested about using a compatible mobile device to setup your tracker (you can borrow a friends iPhone, iPad or Android device). Once setup you should be able to sync your tracker with your computer. You can retry downloading the app from this link (uninstall the previous version from your computer and make sure you are using the new installer instead of the version you had on your computer). Just remember to restart your computer after uninstalling the app and make sure your antivirus and firewall are disable when install before you install the new Fitbit connect software.
@WavyDavey thank you for your help here too!

It sounds like Fitbit does not want to support Windows 7. This is what Clark Howard refers to as "customer NO service". Had this not been a gift I would have returned the Charge 2 by now.
I will try to get access to a mobile device.

I finally got access to a Smartphone and was able to setup my Charge 2 tracker. However my Windows 7 computer with an installed Fitbit dongle still won't sync with the device (still no Windows 7 driver available for the dongle).

I am having the same issue. I was told on the Click to Chat application to uninstall the Fitbit App and reinstall it. When I tried to reinstall it said I could not because we still use Windows 7. I tried to install it on my phone but my bluetooth is not working. GRRRR! Technology!!!

@lynvick56 Welcome! It's good that the community is growing!
I will gladly assist you with your tracker not syncing and sorry for the late reply. Since you are now using a phone I would like to know which phone are you using? Is it compatible? You can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on. You can find additional suggestions here which includes instructions for PC.

Inherited two Versa2. Main one happy with Android and Bluetooth. Not so much Win10 and deffo not Win7. Hate this product - keep being told what wonderful stuff it does but I can't get it to do any of the stuff I want. Dearly want my music on board. If you want to sell to the population, for Gawd sake don't make planned obsolesce a feature.
