I wear my Fitbit around my laces while at work is this as accurate as wearing it on your wrist?

I've seen numerous posts where people have reported that the step count can be as accurate as wearing on your wrist (and in some situations more accurate) but my concern would be the accuracy of the calories burned calculation.

Years ago I did some tests and found that calories burned were higher when worn on the shoe. The other issue would be that the loss of heart rate tracking would lead to a drop in accuracy.

If steps are your main interest then it's probably ok but be wary if calorie tracking is important to you.

Thanks that helps but I’m more for the active minutes would you say that would be as accurate as wearing on the wrist?

I'm guessing here but I would think that the lack of heart rate tracking risks your active minutes being lower as it would just have your step tracking to go by.

I found the following thread where their findings support my guess:

It records everything except my heart rate obviously I was just concerned wether it would be as accurate I clocked up 171 mins last night at work we were busy kept moving but did have little breaks between when I was standing still that’s the first time I wore it on my shoe at work I always do on the treadmill and it’s accurate then it’s just 171 between 7.30 pm and midnight seems a lot
