Will leaving my charge cord plugged in when not charging the fitbit make it degrade faster?

I'm only asking this to be certain, but will my charger plug and cord degrade over time more if I leave it plugged into the power plug, even when it's not charging my fitbit?

I understand that when a circuit is not closed, no current is drawn. However, I'm not 100% certain that the charge cord is not drawing any current, even if it's not connected to a fitbit.
