Will the battery deterirate if charge 4 is unused stored in box

Hi. My old charge 3 has been great but the battery is getting old and needing charging a lot. I am opting for a charge 4 as it has the same features as the 3 and the 5 have disbanded the stair climbs. So its a no to the charge 5 for me. I see the charge 4 has been discontinued and hard to get now. Our store here still has a couple so im thinking of buying them both for in the future so i have one to fall back on. Question is will the battery deteriorate if left boxed and not used?

@Khackford   Rechargeable batteries do deteriorate unboxed and unused.  But I don't have any specific details.  I've seen posts on the forums where users say they bought an older, in the box model from a third party and it wouldn't charge.  Or that they needed to recharge more frequently with that model new to them.  You can search the internet and get a better idea of battery life under these circumstances, then decide for yourself.
