Trying to find where to download the web app for Windows 7. All the links keep directing me to an the Windows App store that says "Not compatible with your device"

Anyone have a download link?

I don't think there is an app for Windows 7. You'll need to download and install the fitbit connect software from www.fitbit.com/setup and use the wireless dongle that came with the fitbit. On the setup page make sure you click "PC" before clicking on download.

Recently found since just before the holidays that the "PC" version that you can download no longer works with Windows 7 OS.  The only way I found to sync my device was to download an "App" to my Android phone.

Try this link. It works well for Windows 7. https://www.fitbit.com/setup  Smiley Wink

This setup page that @SteveH and @DaisyNuke posted should direct you to the proper doenlod. If it doesn't then as Steve points out choose other OS and p8ck the proper download.

Same here, syncing no longer works on Win7 and I am unable to download desktop software that works on Win7.

I just tried...it does not work...keeps erroring out or can't get a connection.

I enter the numbers and then it quits. Any other ideas on how to get it to sync with win 7? According to all the searches I've done it is supposed to work.

This site has free third party software that works with the fitbit zip.

The site is: http://fitbit-connect.en.lo4d.com/

I'm still a Windows 7 fan until the END

Good Luck and enjoy

I just this moment downloaded the Windows app from the link fitbit.com/setup and it does install. However, when I begin the process to sync and attach USB cable and plug it all in I hit "next" and get an instruction, "insert dongle." What dongle? What is a dongle? All I got is a USB charge/connect cable. At the step where it shows somebody inserting something that looks like it could maybe fit a USB plug there is no button "next" to get past that. The only option is to close the app and try again until you finally get the message that it just isn't going to work.

I don't want to go to a third party website to download any software because I don't trust anybody but Fitbit to provide the software. The download could have a virus or back door or anything!

I think it is up to Fitbit to make it work with Windows 7 because that is the advertising claim. My state has a law of implied merchantability which states that every product must live up to the manufacturers or seller's advertising claims or the seller is required to issue a full refund.

Come on Fitbit, provide us with a Windows 7 program that works, and provide it on your corporate website, not on some third party server that might be in China or for that matter any country in the world.

You will need the dongle, it is available for purchase on Fitbit website.

It's the little usb plugin to sync with Win 7. If that doesn't work you may have a defective unit which ended up being the problem with mine. Fitbit did replace it and everything works fine now!

Perhaps so but it annoys the hell out of me. Back when I first researched Fitbit I recall that they said it was Windows 7 compatible. My memory is not perfect, perhaps I'm wrong. It's annoying that now I have to purchase yet another item to make my new Fitbit Alta HR work. I already had to buy a replacement band because the plastic band is so ...

If Fitbit were Amazon they would have downloads available for iOS, Windows and Google mobile devices, and iOS, Windows and Linux currently in use, including Windows 7 and above.

I notice Amazon stock is about $1,200 right now. I'm not going to bother checking Fitbit's stock. Sure Fitbit appears it will improve my health, but it's the little details that Fitbit doesn't cover, while Amazon covers everything upwards, downwards, inside out and 7 ways from Sunday. That's a difference between a good corporation and an unbelievable fantastic corporation.

I'll check the price of the dongle but it annoys me to have to pay even more after replacing the ugly standard Fitbit wrist band.

And from the posts above, it used to work with Windows 7. It worked and then Fitbit broke it, and they didn't even care enough to go back and fix what they broke. That is an indication of how much they care about their customers. Think about it. (And thanks for the reply.)

BTW, I'm thinking the dongle is a USB to Bluetooth adapter. My laptop already has Bluetooth, so if that is all it is then even if I buy it, it's not going to fix my problem. And you can be sure I'm not going to upgrade my laptop to Windows 10 just to make Fitbit work. That'll cost more money than I already have spent on my Alta HR.

I've also resisted downloading 3rd party apps, and have resorted to syncing my Alta HR via Android periodically when on my mobile device (Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet). But this is inconvenient, and it's falling by the wayside, I'm just using the Fitbit for it's offline immediate stats. If it weren't for the small size, I'd go back to my Tom Tom or Nike trackers.

@Lovehound  you might want to check and see if that Dongle should have been included with your purchase, it came with mine (Bestbuy May 2017). The dongle is indeed a usb to bluetooth device, and worked flawlessly before Fitbit broke it with an update.

Hey workingmom2! 🙂

I talked to Fitbit custo service today and they said they used to include the dongle but quit because so few people needed it (an euphemism for Windows 7 users) that it was wasted money. However the Fitbit custo rep was very nice to me and told me I could sync with my cell and then transfer that to the Windoze app and get about the same thing. He helped me find the dongle in their Fitbit store. $7 plus $4 shipping.

I almost expected him to offer to send me one for free, but no. I told him if Fitbit was like Amazon they'd have apps for all popular cells and PCs, that AMZN is currently trading in the $1,280/share range, and Fitbit stock wasn't worth pricing. Despite my rather snotty tone the CS continued to be polite and respectful.

Truthfully I think they should start thinking like Amazon and simply send the dongles free to customers who request them.

By the way, I confirmed my suspicion that the dongle is a Bluetooth dongle, and my laptop already has Bluetooth. I'm a retired software engineer and I told the CS guy that their engineers broke the Fitbit Windows app with an update, and that if they were a world class corporation they'd just update the software again to support Windows 7. It's like, Windows 7 will be with us until end of support planned for January 14, 2020.

Fitbit has a first rate product but has a second rate corporate staff and a third rate software engineering team. I hate to be nasty but that is the honest truth of it. I am never ashamed to tell the truth. Their custo support guy was pretty nice to me, but not nice enough to offer to send me a free dongle that is required for my laptop to access my Fitbit Alta HR.

Fitbit is certainly no Amazon.

Where did you read that Fitbit is like Amazon that has a supply of products computerized in contort control down to the spot on a shelf in sometimes multiple warehouses in a single state. Along with music and ebook readers. Etc..

The dongle is $10.99 at Amazon. Don't bother...I still can't get fitbit to recognize my Charge. None of downloads listed here work on my Win7 PC.
