Wrist band failure

My Charge 2 Fitbit is less than a year old and for the past couple of months I have been having problems with the wrist strap pulling away from the watch itself. I can slide it back on but it has gotten increasingly lose to the point where it is just falling off my wrist now. It is the soft part of the end of the strap pulling off the rigid connector and it’s only happening on on side. Unfortunately it’s no longer wearable.

Amazingly, I’ve just found my verse 3 in a swimming pond after a month. Same issue, strap failure. Now, if I’d never been lucky enough to find it, I would have no proof that this was a planned obsolescence failure and be left out of pocket. I wonder how many owners have lost their watches in the sea, a river or pond and had no idea! Or even taking their jacket off on a hike! My wife’s watch arrived with a loose connection on her strap and my previous Ionic also had strap issues!
Thankfully I can now claim a refund on my watch and go to a more dependable brand. I’m Fed up of failing accessories, especially ones that are on an experience and well reputed brand.

As you will still be within warranty, get in touch with customer support. I'm sure they will be able to help: contact.fitbit.com They usually offer a replacement if it can't be fixed

I had two bands fail in less than a year Both replaced by customer Service

I am currently using a 3rd party copy I bought on Amazon for £4.99

Seems better quality than the original

I have same issue but mine started at the year old.

Same problem but started just after the warranty expired.

Love the concept of Fitbit but always have something go wrong as soon as they close in on a year 😕

This is "planned obsolescence" in action. Fitbit wristband failures are extremely common. In all models.

The only product I have had with a 100% failure rate of wrist band. Mine, my wife's, brother and sister in law and friend multiple units each.

Best Answer

I glued mine. Works fine. OR

Buy new at amazon.

Exactly so. Fail, fail, fail. Year after year, model after model. It is absolutely the deliberate (aka greedy) choice of Fitbit to NOT manufacture a viable wristband.

I have the same problem. I’m on my third band in a year. In my opinion if they can’t make a band that lasts at least the warranty period they probably should not be making products at all. I’m buying an Apple Watch. .

Crazy glue fixes it. Should not be necessary.
