Wrist rotation not working on Charge HR

Hi, I am new to the fitbit experience. I have just recently purchased a fitbit and I've heard that when you rotate your wrist, the screen comes on. When I rotate my wrist, the screen does not come on. Is there anything I can do to make this work? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hold down the side button until the battery percentage shows up. Swipe to the lightbulb looking icon and tap it to turn on screen wake. Done.

Hold the button on the left side of your watch for 4 seconds and switch on the Screen Wake button

I’m not new to fitbit and I recently have the same problem with my HR3 that I got for Christmas, to replace by 2 year-old HR2. 
Wrist rotation doesn’t work anymore, and pulse rate detection is badly off, reading far too high episodically. I verified this with a chest strap HR detector.

My wrist rotation works intermittently. Very frustrating. Have to push the sides to see the face. Second Fitbit!  What’s wrong?

My Fitbit charge 3 won’t show the notifications when I rotate my wrist

This also works for the Charge 4.  Spent 20 minutes with Fitbit support chat to find this out.

It was NOT easy to figure out. Just had my Inspire replaced due to defective waterproofing, but the new one had screen wake turned off--thanks for this.

It also depends if it is in sleep mode,as I've just figures out having just had same issue and came here for help!!

I tried the Quick View and that was all set but noticed (on Versa 2) the other sections in settings were dimmed and wouldnt work until I change sleep mode. If you have sleep mode set from say 10pm to 7am the wrist rotation clock wake won't work between those hours 🙂

I never had any problems with my previous Fitbit but this charge 4is a nightmare.  You said something about a quick view setting, where is it or what is it.
