I have a charge 4 and my wristband connector broke a few weeks ago, just 2 months after warranty. So Fitbit told me to go ...... myself and i simply needed to buy a new watch.
When I just bought the watch my wristband broke within a month, contacted Fitbit and got about the same answer they gave me this time. By now it appears the admit the quality of the original wristbands is worse than those bought from an unnamed chinese webshop.
Today the Charge 4 from my wife lost its wristband connector. Exactly at the same point my connector broke. The best part is, she bought hers a few weeks after I bought mine. It appears to be 2 months after warranty.
My wife contacted Fitbit, and because now there are 2 trackers at fault they were so kind to give a 10% discount on 2 new trackers. For us this only means Fitbit is a cheap company with very bad quality, bad customer service and the don't care at all about their customers. After some searching for connector issues it appears it tends to happen just after warranty. Somehow i cant help it, but I believe they made it this way.
I'll never buy anything related to Fitbit again, nor will I ever tell someone to buy one. I know this wont help anyone, except for me.

Hi @qks some people with the same issue went to Amazon and bought a wrap around band which enclosed the pebble part of the Charge 4 and allowed them to keep using it. Might be an option for you and the wife.

I have a Charge 4 that I have had for 16 months, last month the strap broke so I bought a 'Fitbit' strap from the local watch repairer. Then yesterday the screen just went blank and not responsive. Spent an hour on the Live Chat, tried a couple of different suggestions and it is still not working and is supposedly being passed to a NZ agent to contact me with regards to the device and warranty.
I don't think the device is fit for purpose if it can only just make it pass the 12 month warranty period so if I have to buy another device it is not going to be a Fitbit
