Today I biked 19 km through snow on a heavy mountain bike with knobby studded tires each way to church and back, an hour each way, then I walked my dog for an hour. According to my calories burned, I burned about 140 cal each way cycling but in the same time frame 261 cal walking. This seems completely out of whack, given that the cycling was really hard work, and the dog walking was definitely less so. Anyone else experienced this? Or have an idea how to fix this?

@RedEng Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your calorie calculation. This does seem odd. Remember that your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and record the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. This arm movement is used to detect the intensity of the activity. Since you aren't moving the arms during biking this may make the device provide a lower calorie calculation. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a more accurate record on your account regarding the calories burned (you can search online for a calorie calculator.
Let me know how it goes.
