HOW DO I CHANGE THE LANGUAGE ON MY TRACKER OR WATCH?

Your tracker or watch must use the same language as the language you use for your Fitbit account.

To change the language on your tracker or watch:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon:
    User-added image
  2. Tap or click Advanced Settings.
  3. Tap or click Country.
  4. Turn off the option to automatically detect your country.
  5. Choose your country and then sync your tracker or watch.
  6. Follow the instructions to update your tracker or watch to use the language you selected.

Skyrider

I think you need to go to the settings in your online fitbit account, into personal info and the option to change language is there.

Hi! I have a similar issue.

I received my Charge 3 yesterday and when I downloaded the app it was in German. I followed the mentioned instructions (change country on the app) but it keeps setting itself back to German. The most weird right now is that it's partially in English and German. I made screenshots but don't see where I can atrach them.

To attach screen shots, click the 'Photos' icon with picture of camera just above box where enter text.

Don't know if it will help in your case, but sometimes when changing a setting doesn't seem to work, it helps to first change it to something else wrong that you don't want, sync, then change it back to what you want and sync again.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Great, it English now.

This situation has motivated me to learn German language.

I don’t understand. I always had my time zone automatically detected with  Sweden selected on Charge 2 and I had the menu items in English. Why is it all in Swedish on Charge 3 now??

Hi, @mrsgustafsson, I think Fitbit has in the past year or so made some changes in how the language and time zone interaction works.

Your language will be determined by which country you set up, and this is done on the web based platform rather than the app.  If you want your language to be English, you shouod set your country for UK in the web based settings.  You can then set your timezone to Sweden in the app.  My experience is that when Fitbit does an update you may need to reset these preferences.

"Your tracker or watch must use the same language as the language you use for your Fitbit account."

This doesn't work for me. My account is in English, yet my tracker is still in Dutch.

In Advanced settings I have selected "Nederland (Engels)".

Any ideas please?

Stating the obvious - country is not the same as language. Numerous countries of several or no official language, not to mention many who work in a country but use a different language.

Hi,

While i can change tha languge the way it has been described, the language keeps changing back to Swedish for some reason.

Can you explain why it does.

It does it as of March-April. i have had Charge 3 since December 2018, it has not been a problem before, only recently.

I have tried contacting Fitbit support over email, but no response on the matter.

please advice urgently.

I had the same issue - device in Dutch but app in English. I live/work in the Netherlands but speak English. None of the 'change language' options worked for me - even Nederlands(Engels) made the device in Dutch. But I changed the location setting to Europe and now device seems to be in English.
