charge 4 not tracking steps, make sure app battery is unrestricted

Has started giving me a error that my steps aren't being counted and that I need to set the phone fitbit app battery to unrestricted. The app even gives me a direct link to the setting. It always shows the battery is unrestricted. Because of this error the watch/phone app shows a step count that is way off. I'm usually around 15k but when the app errors I get substantially more, today I woke to 49K. This has been going on for about 2 months happening every couple of weeks.

@akr56 , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts. 

 

Do you see the message on the Charge 4 or on your phone?

Do you have MobileTrack activated on the Fitbit app? 

If so please deactivate this if you are using the Charge 4, as the data recorded with MobileTrack uses the movement sensors from your phone and might interfere with the data collected by your tracker. 

To turn off/remove MobileTrack, just tap on your profile picture in the app>MobileTrack > tap on the button to remove.
