My Fitbit was showing me unknown caller for a long time now whenever I received a call. In the process of trying to fix that by following all the advice in these forums, now it is not showing me any alerts........ and yes, notifications are set to on!!!
Answering my own question..........found another thread on one of the boards that told me to export and import my contacts on my phone and that seemed to work!!!!

It's a Samsung Galaxy s8+ and I was mistaken. It is not fixed. It looked like it was, but it is still showing unknown when I receive calls.
