Is it brand new?

You wont see anything until its set up so charge it for 2 hours and then use this article to to set it up

http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1873

Once done all you need to do is press the button when its in the charger and you will see it

@karend1 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to add to @WendyB's instructions that when you initially charge it you will feel a vibration, this will tell you that it has a good connection with the charging cable and just leave it charging for a couple of hours. Once it is setup you can see the battery status on the tracker and while charging just press the button.

Let me know how it goes!

Mine was not charging for hours. I think the problem is that you have to attach the unit to the charger by matching the 3 contact points inside the charger with the 3 contact points on the underside of the charge 2. When I did that the charging status flashed briefly on the face of the charge 2. Hope this is correct and helpful. It so, it should be made clearer and may be the source of many charging complaints.

@Jdsr Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! Your post is helpful so thank you for sharing. I just wanted to add that this is the same reason the charging cable has an aperture for the button on its side. This should help guide users to place the tracker correctly and aligned with the contacts. Still thank you for your contribution.

Even with the apeture, the clasp does not seat well on the charge 2. Maybe check the battery status after 20 minutes just to be sure it's charging. The surface area charging contact points are very small and the tolerance for movement on the clasp is wider than the those points. For anyone else wondering, on the charge 2 display the battery will have hash marks that appear to be moving if it is charging correctly.

@Paulito_chicone Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Thank you for your observations. I just want to add that this is why the charging cable has an opening for the button, this will ensure that the tracker is in the correct position. I have been using my Charge 2 for almost two years and I haven't had any issues while charging it, just a quick check and I know it is charging when seeing the battery icon.

Hi Alvaro, that's great that yours doesn't give trouble but this is a real problem, clearly being experienced by a lot of people, including me. Saying it always works is not really helpful.

When I press the button I don't get a battery icon at all most of the time. When I did see it there is nothing to suggest it is charging. It often doesn't charge. It is a real problem.
