If you push the button (or remove and replace the charging cable) then it will display the charging icon, when the icon is full, the charge is complete.

After a sync your app will yell you the battery status.

Also if you have the latest firmware, go to your Chatge2 settings - under Menu options - add the battery meter - then sync

Now simply tap the button until the battery level shows.

I found this to be an issue with the Charge 2.  When it's charging, and properly docked in the charging clasp, there's no way to find out the charge unless you remove / replace the charging clasp.  This causes additional wear and tear to the charging clasp, as well as scratching my screen protector I put on there.

I ended up just plugging and unplugging the USB side of the cable to see what the charge is.  Pressing the button while charging does nothing.

This is very annoying and not user friendly.  I should be able to press the button when it's in the charging clasp, to bring up the screen to see the charge status.

On the old Charge HR one could easily do that... why did they change it for Charge 2?

You can press the button through the the hole in the clip but it is a little fiddly. I find using a fingernail works.

Really?  I thought I pressed the button several times (with my fingernail) and nothing happened.  I guess I will  have to try again with a pen tip or something.

If you just tap on the face while it is in the charging harness, the battery emblem will come up. I think this is in the documentation, I know I read it somewhere because that is what I do.

A lot of people are using usbs add on box on a laptop & the laptop does not have the power to charge fitbit . You can charge fitbit on the usb on  your laptop or get a power cord for your usbs box . That is why people can not charge fitbit in 2 hours , I hope that will help .

It's a good question.  I recently charged my Fitbit, saw the fully-filled battery icon, removed it from the charger, synced it and saw a full green icon on the smartphone app, then used the button to scroll to a function on the Fitbit.  Approx. 10 seconds, while scrolling back to the home (time, date, and # of steps screen), I saw the battery level screen that showed 85%.  What's the story there?  That kinda bothers me.  If I had really burned through 15% of my battery life in a minute of doing a few mundane functions, the battery would not last a day (typically lasts 4-5 days).

You didn't burn through 15% that quickly, you just didn't charge it enough by about an hour. My experience is the portal battery status is very appropriate. The full charge is somewhere between 75% to 100%. The half charge is between 25% to 75% and low battery is lower than 25% (at low you have more than 24 hours battery.

When charging, always look at the battery symbol while in the charger, this will give you the best representation of a charge.

Hello guys! I hope you are doin' great! 🙂

Your Fitbit Charge 2 comes equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. Charging fully takes about one to two hours. You'll see on the display of the Charge 2, when the battery doesn't have lines inside the battery picture and it has a solid color, that means that the battery is fully charged. The battery normally lasts up to 5 days with normal use. If you are having battery draining issues, I suggest you to take a look at this post which contains tips to make it last longer. However, if the issues persist, I suggest you to contact our Support team for further assistance.

Have a nice day folks!

This is the best way to find it out. But I have a problem again. The seller told me to keep it plugged for the first time for more than 3hrs even if its fully charged.

Any idea why he told me to do it ?

Because he doesn't know what he is saying.

First point. Until it is setup you will not know what the battery level is.

Second point. You are going to want to try it out as soon as it is setup.

Enjoy!

There is no visible charging icon....this is why so many people are asking how can u tell when your fitbit charge 2 is fully charged.....I have owned 3 different styles of fitbit and this is the only one that does not have an obvious charging icon.

You can't seen the screen when the Charge HR 2 is charging so pressing the button doesn't do anything.  And removing the cable from the charger doesn't help either.  There's nothing to see when you're looking at the "underneath" of the HR2.
